People have tried to duplicate those lunchroom cookies for decades but to no avail. I Grew up in the seventies and you could smell those cookies a mile away. Just the smell alone had you hypnotized. The only way to duplicate those cookies is bring back those cafeteria workers that baked those goodies in the seventies. Peanut butter cookies were the bomb as well.

I absolutely love these cookies. My Mom was a CPS teacher and would bring those butter cookies home. I also remember getting them from the lunchroom. Such great memories.

I was poor growing up in Chicago, I remember the cafeteria ladies would sometimes give away a free cookie when I passed through the lunch line! I still remember how grateful I was to the lady putting it on my tray❤ Memories, those cookies were delicious ❤

There was a woman that lived around the corner from me that sold those cookies. She worked in the lunchroom when they still sold HOT lunches and she knew how to make them. After she retired, she still sold those cookies from her home.

@@Imissyoulouyeah we had hot lunches everyday. Those women knew how to cook .

3 for 10 or 15 cents, and do not forget the chocolate milk, and don't forget to dip your cookie in the milk. I brought my cookies before I brought my lunch because if I waited , they would all be gone. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤the flashback of the "GOOD OLD DAYS."

I made a variety box of cookies for family this Christmas. There were eight different cookies in the box. CPS butter cookies were the biggest and the center cookie.

Gotta try these one day. Much respect to a female black owned business. Also, much respect to the Latinos working hard in the kitchen.
@Imissyoulou9 сағат бұрын
There should have had some Blacks in there working. It was Black women that baked those cookies at Mason School on the Westside of Chicago.

@goody71988 I've brought some from a Walgreens once and was disappointed. They are not good in my opinion. The taste is most definitely not the lunchroom cookie I remember. Everyone's palate is different.
