Quote from the patch: After a patch, the FMG9's hip fire spread was expanded and its recoil was increased after Infinity Ward received several complaints from players calling the weapon "overpowered", especially with Akimbo. Like the other machine pistols in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the FMG9 has a slower rate of fire when used with Akimbo. MW3, for me, was the first COD I seriously got into. It will forever be the GOAT for me. So hell yeah, let’s see more MW3 videos. Idea would be to see you use the Model 1887, to get a MOAB. That shotgun was challenging to MOAB with.

I played MW3 on Wii back in the day, and due to the Wii being peepeepoopoo the fire rates on guns were all a little messed up. It didn't affect the meta too much, but it did make the FMG9 fire rate even faster. Not only that, but on the Wii you always had a blue dot that showed you exactly where you were aiming when firing from the hip. This made the FMG9 akimbo so overwhelmingly powerful that it was an unspoken rule that you did NOT use the FMG9 akimbo ever, with the only exception being if someone else in the lobby was using it, in which case everybody would come together and target them (and their teammates would intentionally sandbag them) until they either put the FMG9's away or left the lobby altogether. Good times

Funny story - my friend wasn't allowed to have a console because he was always getting grounded BUT his family had a wii and we bought mw3 to play it . He also bought a handheld controller which was kinda like a ps3 controller , he would run around with fmg9s and get a MOAB every game, sometimes even a double moab lol. Good memories, ofc getting a moab on wii doesn't count when you have that advantage but it was still so much fun and hilarious to watch

These things definitely made going with the ACR all day even easier for alot of people. Few people knew that these actually combo better with the G36C as it was coded to have really fast swap in/out times in addition to having a 10% firerate advantage over the ACR with perfectly consistent vertical recoil (hold stick down a bit as you fire and just laser beam anything). When visible/moving across sight lines use your AR, when going into tighter spaces pull these puppies out. FMG9 akimbo was the best shotgun and smg in the game and didn't even take up a primary gun slot.

Yeah I definitely remember using these. These are pretty much overpowered and you'll get pissed off when they use it on you. But when you use it on them it's satisfying, like the msr.

I was cm901 main I’m sure nobody remembers it or hardly ever used it but I loved that gun it had a lot of recoil but if you managed to master it, it was a solid AR

The MP9 was nice too, because the range was as good as a submachine gun. I used to run a single mp9 with a silencer, it was my secondary for most of my moabs.

the hip-fire was even tighter on launch. the nerf was to make the spread larger. I think there was another dual wield change that made the fire rate of the guns different

I loved the fmgs, I always had them as back up behind my MSR sniper rifle. I played soo much of the OG mw3, I had over 55,000 kills in that game. Id still be playing these og cods today but I refuse to waste money on an Xbox subscription. That's why I'm on PC now, it's free.

I think I never clicked om a fortunate video as fast as this. This game was my childhood and this weapon was my best friend and biggest enemy at the same time. My first Moab and 50+killstreak was achieved with this one on dome infected. Also stopped so many of my moabs on tdm and dom.
