i think people hear "art" andthe first thing that comes to mind is a pretentious college graduate trying to sell you a square saying it has some crazy meaning, but designing a fun and engaging game is definitely an art and that's why these devs trying to follow their pre-packaged formulas can't really get it right.

Modern games are the highest form of art. Have you played Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The gameplay, the graphics, the music, the sound, the story just expertly woven together for a truely unique and super fun game. I was laughing, i was crying, I was pumping my fist. Stellar Blade, Granblue, ys x, Metaphor, Helldivers 2, etc. Just incredible works of art that beats the hell out of anything.

yes i agree, but in my opinion modern games are rarely ever good enough to consider art, this year has just been very good. this video is more discussing the cash grab remake trend (excluding ff7) and live service bullshit shoved into modern games

@@glorytogamersxp Well if we look at Bloober Team's pedigree they aren't one who can really create high quality art. Blair Witch and The Medium were terrible. Who they blew to get the Silent Hill 2 remake that teams twice their ability would die for is i don't know.

yeah i actually agree. i think his content is good but i just think he's been so dissapointed with modern games that he can't be positive about many of them anymore and while i agree it sucks the fun out of a lot of stuff, he is almost always right on about shit.

Hitting a game that has politics in it is easy, life is political and video game mirror life. Hitting a moment where politics is happening is like shooting a rocket on the moon. Like Spiderman 2 people say is totally political but i can think of maybe 3 moments of that game having anything remotely politcal in it and that is being generous. The game has 28 hours of content in it. So hitting a game is easy but hitting a moment is damn near impossible
