I was a professional audio engineer for the better part of a decade, and I could tell you almost precisely what the editor did differently from video to video, down to what frequency ranges were boosted or cut in EQ, approximate compression ratio, etc. Unless falcon has 20 different mics, to account for the WIDE range of differences, it's 100% the editor.

A lot of people have been complaining about Dragon Age The Veilguard saying the graphics should be better. In my opinion, it looks amazing, without going for "realism". And the hair physics looks awesome. Art style is more important for me. Though I have to say that Matrix Unreal 5 demo was amazing. As long as we continue to have that balance of games going for realism, and other games going for art style, then im happy.

Highly detailed graphics are nice, but they don't make a game good. I want devs to put a priority on gameplay first. Smooth frame rates and fun gameplay are more important to me than how high res the textures are. Pretty graphics are a bonus. But it's clear that some put graphics ahead of gameplay, and those games rarely are successful.

Sticking to the graphics: Facial animations are trash. Many of the textures look like they're from the the PS3 era. Some of the vistas do genuinely look good, though. Overall, the art direction is doing the heavy lifting here. It's not pushing any technical boundaries. And before someone starts blabbing about how it must be a console thing, I have eyes, too lol. I've played other PS5 games at that price point (Alan Wake 2, Horizon Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, etc.) that look really impressive. Outlaws looks mostly fine (except for facial animations). Sometimes it looks pretty good. Sometimes it looks dated. It's not the worst looking game, and yet the graphics are far, far from insane.

I think Star Wars Outlaws does look great. The world design is really good, and - for me - the character animations are too. Exploring the worlds of Star Wars is a huge draw. I know people love to pile on in hating this game, but I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

I don't know about others but I'd happily see an other Hellblade game in the near future. They might not be the best at storytelling or gameplay (but I really did enjoy those factors too) but they have such a crazy graphics. I think if we get a hellblade game for one console generation at the time it's fair.
