More than once, I've said over the course of years, "the things I would give to just have one more day of those times, back when I used to hug him as he sat on my lap when we would watch a show together." Just thinking about it is honestly bringing a few tears up to threaten a few sentimental sniffles and I haven't even finished my breakfast yet😅🥹

when this song comes up in the episodie with the same name, I remember you, it always makes me cry, and it was the first time we saw simon and marceline past and how he taked care of her when she was alone, he was like a father to her, and she lost him because of the crown, now trying to make hin remember who he was

I love you so much for these adventure time songs Mr. Watkinson. It was one of my favorite tv shows and I didnt watch it when it was coming out when I was a kid. I was 24 or 25 when I watched my first episode of adventure time, and from the very first theme song I was hooked. So thank you for covering these beautiful songs

I'm sure you already know the story. But this song was written by a father to his daughter. He was losing his memories and mind to a medicine that was saving him from a terrible sickness. He knew that one day he wouldn't remember her and might even say or do hurtful things. He did end up losing all of his memories and the daughter eventually found the song scribbled on some old photos. She sang the song with her father, who was still alive but trapped in madness. The joy of still having her parent was overshadowed by the tragedy of him losing his true feelings for her. Deep down the father understood the tragedy of the girl who had lost a father, even if he didn't completely understand that he was the lost father. Thank you for bringing such a beautiful cover of this moment into existence.

I’ve never really thought about this song outside of the context of the show, but recently my grandparents have been getting older and struggling more with memory.
