for those who don't know the lore: So, basically; Adam was in a illegal group named Bythorn Paranormal Society (or rather BPS for short as seen on his hoodie. but lemme back up a bit! in The Mandela Catalogue is based in 4 fictional county's in Wisconsin U.S: Mandela, Bythorn, Werksha, and Yonder where a crisis is happening w/ doppelgangers and stuff but religious- it's a lot. The dude in the background talking at 5:01 is Jonah Marshall, his friend (?) and he basically left Adam bc he was being an ass and ended up dying. OH! and lemme mention that there's things called "Alternates" which are basically religious doppelgangers made to made ppl Off themselves bc why not? with phycological warfare or smth to cause them insane. Adam was one of them without knowing bc he was kidnapped by intruder as a baby and then got assimilated (?) (the first goober that we see in this song). and at 5:15 that's Sarah Heathcliff, who's brother offed himself in VOL 1 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWnHYmWta9WApdU) and so basically Adam's just having a silly identity crisis!! Yeah, in the Mandela Catalogue, Adam was replaced by an alternate when he was very very young, so the Adam Murray we know, is actually an alternate raised who was raised by human beings. The man tormenting him is known as "6" and he was the one who kidnapped and replaced Adam when he was very little. At the end of the song, he's screaming likely due to finding out his reality, and the physical pain of being distorted.
