I remember in elementary school my class I believe it was fourth grade had a substitute teacher who covered our class for about a week. The sub brought a vinyl Tremaine Hawkins album and played it in class. I think she told us Tremaine was 18. I didn't know anything about being saved or born again. I was mesmerized to the music. When I was 15 I was introduced to the Hawkins Family through Walter's music and suddenly remembered hearing the music in fourth grade. Then I understood. Beautiful songs written to uplift the body of Christ. RIP Walter Hawkins. See you in the morning. Your music will live on.

This is the songs that I know about, not this song what they play today, I was saved back in 1978 they don't make songs like this anymore, he is gone now but he's in heaven still singing the Praise I will get a chance to meet him and all that have gone before me. Jayaughn what true and beautiful words you submitted near the end of this video. Thank you for this video. Walter Hawkins will be greatly missed yet through his music he will forever live. Today on 102.5 this song was playing as I started my car. My heart felt sad for a moment and my eyes watered. I had to remind myself of what the Word of God says "Blessed are they that die in the Lord. They shall rest from their labour and their works shall follow them." Then I was able to smile. I pray that people in every city in every state will call the gospel radio stations reqesting that Walter Hawkins and Edwin Hawkins music be played.
