I remember meeting Charles in Reykjavík after Secret Solstice. I drove him and Chris his sound manager to their hotel after stopping them at a traffic light and offering them a lift. He was such a genuine soul. I've always loved his music and i regret on not taking him up on his offer to come meet him in New York. R.I.P brother

I only discovered Charles Bradley about a month ago through a social media post from Nathaniel Rateliff, and then to discover his passing was both a shock and selficiously, disapointing. This man had only just got started, it's a shame the recognition came so late for him, but i'm glad the world got to see his talent before it was too late. Thanks Charles, i only just discovered you, but I'll be listening to you for years to come.

Alex Wells: I discovered him just a couple/few months ago via his stirring cover of Black Sabbath's "Changes" and fell in love with his music immediately. It saddened me to learn that he'd already been dead for about a year by the time I'd first become aware of him. There's a double-edge to his late fame: On the one hand, it's a shame that it took so long for the mainstream music world to notice him and deem him worthy of paying attention to; but, on the other hand, at the very least we got these few years with him that we got 'cuz it woulda been a bigger shame for his talent to have never been noticed at all.

He seems like such an amazing man. I missed his show when he came through St. Louis. I'm really wishing I would have made it. I didn't think he might have been gone so soon. To be there, and to feel the love he was... transcommunicating with us all. It was really a magical thing. Taking sorrow and turning it into sharing. Taking hardship and turning it into something. A reason for us all to get together and have love for one another. I'm glad I was able to recieve the gift he shared with the world. Rest in peace, brother.

GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU CHARLES VICTIM OF LOVE BRADLEY THE SOUL LEGEND. Charles wasn't just a great artist he was a really cool laid back nice Guy.A man of character . people that have been through some really hard times and tragedy can really relate to him and feel him.Drove all the way to Colorodo to see him with Nathaniel rattliff but he got sick and didn't perform then he died a few weeks later...his mom had died though and i guess it was his time too he really touched alot of souls maybe his life was bad and tough but at the end he really served a purpose not just his music and story but he took care of his elderly mom till she died and that takes alot of heart and character. My Favorite Charles Bradley songs are Crying in the chapel, Heartaches and pain and let LOVE stand a chance. Thanks Charles I feel a pain in my chest when i think about how you died....

I would've given my life for his in a heartbeat just cause I know how much his music means to so many and giving him more time to expand his late discovery in life is such a no brainer. Still, I'm glad for the music we did get. It's truly timeless stuff and one of the most potent antidepressants I've ever come across. It's the kind of music that reminds you about the beauty of life, and the hardships. I absolutely love that I got to exist at the same time as this beautiful soul. RIP to Charles Bradley.
