Joe left the band back in 2004/2005. They then had their brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini, take over bass duties until 2019. Now, it’s just Pete and Sam

I saw Chevelle at Ozzfest about 17 years or so ago when The Red came out and it was alright but I never thought it was anything special. But the last couple months I've been listening to them more. Theres a lot there. Never too late.

I love watching younger people enjoy the music I love as much as I do. I'll get a day of insomnia and just binge people reacting to Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, or Chevelle and there's something about people completely different than me recognizing the beauty or art in something that helps restore my faith in humanity.

Great reaction. It's always awesome to witness the beginning stages of an up and coming Chevelle fan. If they're not already on your list, do be sure to add The Meddler and Arise, you won't regret it

I love Chevelle. I was like you and just knew their "hits" until I saw them in concert and started listening to their albums to prep. Well, that made me an instant fan. Their non-single tracks are typically just as good or better than the singles. Here are my suggestions: For slow and chill, try "Twinge", for a heavier track, try "Choking Game", for ol' school heavy, try "Family System". Honestly, you can't go wrong with most Chevelle songs though.

I remember reading that Pete wrote this song about a close friend with addiction issues and after a relapse...As someone who used to struggle with addiction, this song has always hit me in the gut. His voice, the guitars, and aura are incredible. The lyrics are very painful.
@tidepride863 жыл бұрын
That was Vitamin R you're thinking of. (My memory isn't the greatest), but I think I remember Pete saying this particular song is about those commercials we see about poor/starving children and how we either zone out or just change the channel.

Shameful Metaphors or Highlands Apparition. Either one you will love. I have been a Chevelle fan from their beginning and have every album, trust me!!!!!!!
@jarenyoung93893 жыл бұрын
Interesting theory on the meaning of the song. I read that the lead singer Pete Loeffler actually said that this song was inspired by him seeing those commercials about starving g children in Africa and wanting to help. It's about the idea of either doing something to help or just sitting back and doing nothing. If you listen again with that context it should make sense

I recently did the CheVelle deep dive and have been obsessively listening ever since. Aggressive bass, try “Door to Door Cannibals”. Featuring Pete’s pretty vocals, try “The Meddler” or “Envy”. Total vocal switch up from soft to screaming, try “Forfeit”. Guitar riff and screaming, try “Family System.” I suggested “So Long, Mother Earth” from the new album on a previous reaction. So much more greatness to cover. Thanks!
@thegrenademan16 ай бұрын
A bit late, but what I think the thing about his voice is, is that it is so soft yet powerful at the same time, which is something that not many vocalists can do.

Panic prone is awesome, chevelle debut album was point #1.I love closure from wonder what's Next album. I really enjoyed from chevelle: Dos, blank earth, an evening with el diablo, don't fake this, get some, Breach birth, saferwaters, shameful metaphors, sleep apnea, one ocean, envy... Maybe You should hear 10 years, it's an amazing band, the everybody's known single is wasteland, but i love "seasons to cycles" and "tightrope" songs...

So Long, Mother earth, which is an insanely good song off of Niratias, Endlessly or Ghost and Razor. But the whole Niratias album is so good. Self Destructor was really good but if I'm being honest, So long, Mother earth is more powerful. For others you might have not reacted to or heard yet are Vitamin R, Door to Door Cannibals, Sleep Apnea, Get some, Still running, Bend the bracket, and yeah too many to mention.
