Coach Bob Knight is the reason I became a fan of IU’s men’s basketball team when I was a 8th grader. I fell in love with his coach style and a particular player on his team that amazed me (Calbert Chaney).

I saw an interview several years ago. It was one of coach knight's former players. He told a story that he lost his job, got an eviction notice, and his wife is having a baby due in a couple of weeks. He called his former coach told him about his situation. Begging the coach for help. Few days later not only coach knight help him get a job but also found a place for him and his wife. I'm hearing some of these negative comments from other people even former players (especially the weak ones). But coach knight did some really good things that out weight the bad. His graduation among his players is almost 100% and you never heard any off the court incidents among his players. Coach knight was a leader among men and he loved his players regardless.

Yeah, any player who wouldn't put up with his abuse and transferred is weak. He was a piece of garbage and I'm glad he lost what was left of his mind and suffered before he croaked. RIP Neil Reed and Jason Collier.

Wayman Tisdale was on that Olympic Team. And right after those Olympics were over he was asked, ‘What are you going to do now?’ To which he replied, ‘First thing is I’m going back to my hometown and hug & kiss everyone I used to think was mean!’

He stands as a remarkable basketball coach and a mentor who has shaped countless young men. Nearly 95% of his students graduated under his tenure, and an astounding 99% of them have grown into exemplary and productive individuals. This enduring legacy is the essence of his remarkable career.

Bob Knight represented everything great about this nation at one time. The fact that he is smeared in thr modern era is a notch in his belt, in my book. Whiners, cryers, and weak Westerners are the ones who criticize him because our entire society is soft. Bob Knight is a perfect representation of his era, before the world went mad.

His players all Love him, he's not a racist or a pedophile, just an old school style coach. So hes alright by me, this younger generation just cant handle people like him, That's just how that Generation of coaches 🤷 were. John Chaney, Jim Calhoun, Jim Boeheim, John Thompson ect.. highest graduation rate, zero infractions, and he loved his players.
@Mandrahale
@Mandrahale Жыл бұрын
One player of his players made an NBA all star team (Isiah Thomas). Did he achieve a lot with lesser talent or were his players only good enough to play well in college? I never was a fan of his because he was a bully. He was a child in many ways. But his death is still unfortunate. The Christian in me says he didn’t know any better and was lashing out for a reason. So forgiveness is in order. But as a human, I had a hard time separating the man from the bully behavior.
