Rest in Peace, a genuine legend who has left a huge mark in the history of cinema. This little guy helped keep the morale up over 60 years ago, at a time when it was so needed. We will always have the films to watch, and to remember a great talent. I would like to imagine him now "putting on a show", with colleagues of the golden age of Hollywood, who he was reunited with yesterday. Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Judy Garland, & Freddie Bartholomew would be welcoming him.

A great in the acting world, To bad people didn't have enough respect to show a little more about his career on CNN. Sure he loved his wife Jan but she doesn't belong on his star. Unless that's what he wanted. And she aggravates him so much. Even leaning on him in the car he couldn't even breath. And would never shut up. But I suppose he loved her.

I loved this guy and his energy and passion for life and his art right to the end; he was the quintessential old skool showbusiness before it became cynical. Watching repeats of him & Judy in the Andy Hardy movies is one of my childhood treasures. Legend is an over-used term these days, but Mickey most certainly was and always will be.

What I loved about this video is when Mickey says (paraphrasing) that today's Hollywood should learn to love itself and to pay tribute to those before who are the REAL actors who opened the way for today's "actors" ... rare is a movie with actors who genuinely have the passion for such craft.. today.. Hollywood tries to make $$$ with showing excessive amounts of skin and leaving nothing to the imagination.. storylines have become bland and little inspiration is given... Rooney was a real talent.. and in the best time of Hollywood... He will be missed!!!!!

Mickey and Judy were the first teenagers, They were the first teenage superstars, Before Michael Jackson, the Beatles, or even Elvis Mickey Rooney was the image everybody thought of when they heard the word teenager. He was the teenage image in the minds of the creators of Archie Andrews and Jimmy Olsen right down to the bow ties. Dead? No he's as immortal as Puck and Tom Sawyer. He just got too big for his body.

First of all, so called "Mickey Rooney" wasn't his real name. There was nothing wrong with his actual birth name, Joseph Yule, Jr. Most likely the change was made as the result of a greedy Studio or Business Manager, with perceived notions of greater recognition accompanied with monetary gains? In reality, it's also shows blatant disrespect for one's parents & their family heritage, just to possibly obtain (not earn) a greater buck?! The ONLY reason a name change should be done, is for a woman when she gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her name, then she doesn't accept the sanctity of marriage or respect for her husband.
