Remembering Hugh Gibb, the father of The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb. Hugh passed away of internal bleeding in Las Vegas on March 6, 1992. For many years, Hugh was a band leader and big band drummer of his own orchestra. Hugh briefly managed his sons, The Bee Gees and remained a staunch supporter of all 4 of his sons throughout their careers and lives.
Following the loss of his youngest son, Andy in March 5, 1988 - Hugh was at a loss and never fully got over it. The loss, many feel, played a part in his own passing just 4:short years and a day later. His interment is near that of Andy's in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
I truly believe that we as fans owe a lot of gratitude to Hugh and to Barbara as well. He was a wonderful and talented man as well and is missed.
