Plot-
The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after the events of the first game and about 25 years after the outbreak of the Cordyceps Brain Infection began. Ellie, who is now 19 years old, will return as the main protagonist whom players will assume control of, as well as Joel in his mid-fifties.[4] The story will be split into four seasonal chapters, starting with Jackson County, Wyoming, during the winter months. The pair, having settled down in Tommy's settlement, live in relative peace within the thriving community. While there, Ellie has even managed to form friendships with Dina and Jesse. However, the survivors face constant threats from the Infected and other hostile survivors.
When a tragic event disrupts the tranquillity of her life, Ellie embarks on a journey in a search for vengeance to carry out justice against a mysterious, dangerous cult known as the Seraphites. As she hunts down those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the traumatising physical and emotional consequences of her actions.
Ellie is fuelled by hate, which will be a major theme within the story.[6] The game will also primarily be set in Seattle, Washington.
Characters-
Part II characters:
Ellie (Ashley Johnson) - The protagonist of the game. Ellie is a 19-year-old survivor of the Cordyceps Brain Infection outbreak and the only person known to be immune to the infection. Ellie lives in a large community in Jackson. She sports a tattoo over the bite scar on her right arm to hide her immunity. After witnessing a horrific attack, Ellie embarks on a personal quest for vengeance.
Joel (Troy Baker) - Joel is Ellie's father figure and a former smuggler, who bonded with her years ago while transporting her across the country to the Fireflies in the hopes of creating a vaccine for the CBI outbreak. Unbeknownst to Ellie, Joel killed the Fireflies who were going to kill Ellie to create a cure.
Tommy (Jeffrey Pierce) - Tommy is Joel's younger brother and is one of the leaders of the community in Jackson, alongside his wife Maria. Tommy is the only person aware of Joel's killing of the Fireflies and deception of Ellie. Tommy, like Ellie, spends the game on his own quest for vengeance.
Dina (Shannon Woodward) - Dina is a close friend and love interest of Ellie and a resident of the community in Jackson. She is Jesse's ex-girlfriend, and kisses Ellie which causes a stir in the community. Dina accompanies Ellie throughout the game as their relationship develops.
Jesse (Stephen Chang) - Jesse is a friend of Ellie, and Dina's ex-boyfriend. He is a resident of the community in Jackson, and accompanies Ellie on her quest.
Abby (Laura Bailey) - The secondary protagonist of the game. Abby is a member of the Washington Liberation Front and begins the game of attempting to locate a resident of the community in Jackson. Abby is forced to deal with the fallout of her own quest for revenge.
Owen (Patrick Fugit) - Owen is a member of the WLF and Abby's childhood friend and ex-boyfriend. He is in a relationship with Mel and is having a child with her.
Mel (Ashly Burch) - Mel is a medic and a member of the WLF. She is pregnant with Owen's child, which causes tension between her and Abby.
Manny (Alejandro Edda) - Manny is a member of the WLF and a friend and roommate of Abby's. He accompanies her to Jackson and later in the game.
Lev (Ian Alexander)- Lev is a former member of a religious cult called the Seraphites set to wipe out all 'sin' in the world after the outbreak. Lev is branded an apostate by the Serephites for shaving his hair and is hunted by them alongside his older sister, Yara. Lev becomes Abby's companion and assists her.
Yara (Victoria Grace)- Yara is Lev's older sister who left the Seraphites with him, and is severely injured by them during their escape. She later accompanies Abby during the game.

As I played the second playthrough yesterday , I look at things different now , Joel as you can see already won , Ellie asked him in the museum if he used to go to museums a lot and he said , that Sara used to drag him to every museum , and now the circle is complete , he got back the relationship he wanted so much , he already won , after that yeah so 1 year before he died he didn't talk with Ellie , but still she had so much love for him and before he died she wanted to forgive him , for me he won

Joel was the most realistic and human character developed in a video game. You understand it perfectly, you identify completely with Joel's emotions. We understand Joel's humanity, his love for Ellie as the daughter who fills the void he had for the loss of Sara. It becomes a key figure. It becomes an icon of parenthood. His hatred for the second game comes from being stripped of one of the best characters ever created in video game history. The most human, the most paternal. See him die like that, violently, under torture: an exemplary father was taken from us. So there is a lot of hatred against this game. Because not everyone is prepared to endure the excitement of losing the best father we've ever seen. It's painful, depressing ... it's understandably human. That does not mean that the game is not a masterpiece. We are depressed about knowing his loss, but we are overwhelmed with the excitement just thinking about his whole deep story. Like a true classical Greek drama, it confronts us with a terrible truth that we will all live, or have already lived: knowing that all parents who love their daughter die. And no matter what we do, we can never relive it. It is the tragedy of fate. But he will only live in our memory as the father he loved with all his life, and he was even able to sacrifice all of humanity just so he could enjoy a brief moment more with whom he now loved more than humanity itself: Ellie.

Honestly one of the reasons I love the second game is the way Joel went out -- actions have consequences, even for beloved game protagonists. His decisions at the end of the final game caused so much pain for himself, Tommy, Ellie, and all of Ellie's and Tommy's friends from Jackson. Sure, we see things from his perspective, but realistically, with a man like Joel whose killed so many, it is only realistic that eventually somebody decided to track him down and off him. It's one of the reasons I like Game of Thrones and the A Song of Ice and Fire novels -- nobody is immune from the consequences of their actions.

It is all relatable , i mean Ellie was mad about Joel because he killed a whole hospital to save her , but after he died , she realized how important he actually was for her and she killed even more people because of him .

Joel is the only character that even remotely acts like himself in the flashbacks. If this game is to be believed, Ellie believed him wholesale at the end of the first game (which she clearly doesn't) and is an ungrateful bitch to him for 2 years after the truth comes out as if she's actually just now learning it without being able to piece it together like she definitely would have. She's smart enough to put two and two together. Then apparently Ellie doesn't have even a shred of empathy to understand why Joel saves her and doesn't even give him a chance to explain it even though she definitely understands what happened to Sarah and how she parallels with her for Joel. You couldn't find a way to ruin Joel's core character so you killed him, ND. That's almost better than what you've done to Ellie and the rest of the cast.

TLOU Part II is exactly what I expected from the first cinematic trailer, the one with Ellie singing. Just changing Ellie talking to a "suspicious imaginary" Joel for flashbacks of Joel, and changing the fireflies who took revenge on Joel, to ex-fireflies who took recenge on Joel 😂. And when they said that they humanize the enemies of the game, they did, so that the made us play the story of the antagonist to understan her point of view...

Funny how you say Joel is the best character and then said the guy who created the best character ruined him. Hehehehe You're hurt Joel died, I got it, I am too. But it is part of why his story is so powerful and emotional. We're griefing, we're feeling he wasn't as appreciated as he deserved because he died (yeah, all humans take things for granted and give more value for things after we lose them). Just to argue that "the guy who ruined Joel" made us feel sad so the experience would be a lot more intense. The guy knew his stuff and made a bold choice that is paying off

Am I the only one who have goosebumps and cried after finishing TLOU2 and summaring it? The whole story in the game have head and toe. Yeah even me hated playing as Abby but still the story makes sense. Ellie leaved her there (in the end) beacuse she realized that the revenge Will not save the past and Will not Change future. She realized that thing what Joel did was bad but she knows and feels in how much pain he was when he lost Sarah. He was despred after everything, even that she save Ellie and kills the whole world beacuse there Will be no CURE, he knows that he did what He needed to do, even for his death to save her new baby girl. 😭

Joel spent 4 years with Ellie, 2-3 happy years, and 1-2 being her angry with him, but I think he still was happy being able to protect Ellie (like talking to Jesse about the patrols). He died at 55-60 years old, and thats a lot for the universe of TLOU, and he died happy having again the feels he had with his Daughter Sarah, with Ellie, being able to protect her at any cost, as he is know more skilled about surviving than when the outbreak. Poetically the world took away what he more loved, his daughter. So he took away the possibility of a cure to the world, not letting the world taking away his new daughter again. And thats why he died, because of the consecuences of his acts. Cause he could have not risked his life fighting with a whole paramilitary base, and he could have gone back to Jackson with his brother (family) cause there is no sense going back to Boston (where Ellie, Jess, and him lived before), cause is very far away and he dont have anayrhing there, that would be worth it the risk to cross the country again.

Despite never played either of these games, I had a connection with Joel I never thought I had. When he died, I felt anger from the way they killed him off, but the same feeling of Grief I felt when Arthur Morgan died. Unlike Red Dead Redemption 2, Naughty Dog never gave us Justice for Joel. I wanted to slap Ellie for treating Joel like garbage after everything he did for her. He turned his back on the world for her. I wanted him to tell her: "Don't you ever speak to me like that! I turned my back on the world for you, because I couldn't lose another daughter." About a few minutes ago, a certain person, who will remain nameless, walked in and interrupted my cry session. They told me that this is not real life and this is my addiction to a fantasy world, and that having this kind of emotion over something that's not real is a problem. I told them: "You don't understand. People can have connections to fictional people too. You were just born in another generation. You would never understand what it's like."
