RIP Kris. From far away India. Me and Bobby McGee was anthem like in our undergraduate years in the mid 80s. In a world when music listening was on spools, cassettes and records. Been a while since I listened to much of Kris, but the news of his passing has me binge listening again. Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose. Truer words were never spoken.

Kris was a rebel, I guess, back in the 60's.. but he was writing great music and was always relevant.. I've been a fan of this man for 3 decades.. maybe 4 because I was raised on true country music and he wrote many a great country song. He accomplished so much in his lifetime.. I'm heartbroken.. RIP Kris.

I don't have a favorite song and I never watched any of his movies but I liked when he did "Sunday Morning Coming Down" and "Me and Bobby McGee". For all the drinking Kris did and any drug and cheating problems he did he sure cleaned up his act and lived a long time. Now he is flying free Rest Easy Kris.

I think what was so special about kris kristoffersons, is wasn't about being popular or all into impressing people, he just wanted all of us to love his music, an we did, an ultimately, can never be replaced, he made a good name for himself that will go on,until the end of time, I will miss you my friend , that you never knew ❤

❤❤ ❤ MY ODE TO KRIS … I’d rather hear this old frog croak out his songs with soul, than to hear from some perfectionist play empty rock n roll! And I’d rather hear forgotten words from his aching, breaking heart, than to hear some latest tune that somehow made the charts. 🎶 Yes, Kristofferson’s my hero, through his crazy ups and downs. He has set the hallmark, has the right to wear the crown. Yes, Kristofferson’s my hero, through years and many miles. Whenever I hear his music, it always brings a smile. 🎶 Then in the twilight on the stage, more faded than his jeans, words fell like gilded treasures, more valued than they seem. But I’d rather this old frog croak out out his songs with soul, than to hear from some perfectionist play empty rock n roll … …

Beautifully said. Agree 100%. I saw him with the Highwaymen in 1995, and it is a cherished memory. I remember when Kris sang Sunday Morning Coming Down, a weatherbeaten older man sitting next to me got excited and exclaimed, "that's it, that's my song!" And I realized how the words of a Rhodes scholar was touching people across many sections of society. Kris was a wonderful songwriter whose songs told stories, spoke to us and inspired us. One of my all time favorites.

@@anumitra3627 By an absolute miracle, I too got to see Kris perform his songs in an intimate setting in Australia mid-2000s in Sydney. And by an even bigger miracle, that poem/song got into Kris’s hands in 2017 and I got a phone call from Lisa, his wife, to tell me Kris was very encouraged by he words of that poem/song.

Takes me back to the late 70's and early 80's, to summer night beach parties here in the Adriatic coast, in Croatia. Guys would be feeling up chicks while I was groping a guitar. They had beer bottles where I had a mouth harp and sang stuff like Sunday Morning, Bobby Mc Gee and To Beat The Devil. Thanks for nothing, Kris 😂😎👍 May you forever rest in peace, bro. Thanks for being there for me and for so many of us. 🙏⚘️🇺🇸
