As a child my dad use to watch Larry King interviews. One of my favourite memories as a kid was waiting for Larry King to come on so we could sneak into the kitchen and eat all the cookies while he was watching Larry. RIP Legend.

Two things I’ll always think of when I remember Larry: 1) He took over our lives each night during the entire OJ “thing”. Pre trial, during the trial, and post trial. If I had a favorite 9 PM show I recorded the CNN repeat broadcast at midnight. I didn’t want to miss a minute of it. 2) His interview with Matthew Perry. Matthew had a well known drug dependency problem after his car accident and drugs prescribed for continued back pain. He was so open in that interview, and Larry admired how he had overcome his battles. At the end of the show Larry took off his suspenders and gave them to Matthew. To my knowledge that’s the only time he ever did that. I was glad he continued his interviews on his streaming program. We were given the gift of more great interviews. He was non political, treated guests from either party with great respect. Sadly, those days are gone forever. I’m sure he was disgusted when seeing what passes for “talk shows” now. R.I.P. Larry. You were the greatest.
