Beautifully explained. I lost my mum at a young age, I wish I was taught these things cuz I went into depression & my life changed a lot. I never wanted to drink alcohol but I was directed into having one. After 2 failure years, I changed my life completely. Became a better person and started having healthier habits. Took time but instead of punishing me, I started taking care of myself stating to myself that I will look after myself cuz my mum would want that. Also, I started doing Gurbani & I remember at my mum’s funeral path, there was this Gursikh guy who tried to tell me that it’s going to be okay. I was shocked at this stage that how can he act so calm in a time like this when everyone else is looking so sad. He wasn’t a close family member but still others had a sadness too on their faces but this person had a totally different way of expression and talking like he’s still in bliss. But now I have become that person who’s calm when things go wrong after feeling that bliss myself. All thanks to Gurbani 🙏🏽 You’re a beautiful source bhaji 😇

Remembering ur loved ones is 100 Times more powerful for their ‘living memory’ Our connection is always there though not in physical form. Please pray for their souls to rest n spirits to be at peace and talk to ur loved ones daily without fear. My parents do visit in time of comfort and reassurance and joy. I even captured my loved one spirits in electrical energy. Thank you Waheguruji 🙏🙏

Great answer bhai saab. Everything belongs to waheguru nothing is ours. Dukh sukh is all part of lifes journey no one can escape it. Also sikh usually wear white clothes when person dies as sign of purity, peace and happiness for the soul to have left this world for a better one with waheguru.

I agree about what youve said previously about attachment and yes everyones going to go. They could go at a young age or an old age. They maybe didnt deserve it but it is what it is. But when u said that when we remember a loved one we are focusing on our own loss, not the deceased, im not sure i agree because when people grieve over a dead person they talk about they didnt deserve it etc. In that way your talking about the person dying and how they didnt deserve it not about your own loss. People shouldnt think like this anyway because everything is already written and everyone who is dead is now in a better place whether they left unexpectedly or after long suffering.

But people also say for example when a mother dies they say look how her death has changed everything and look how different everything is now and we dont feel like doing the same stuff we used to before. That is a perfect example on how people focus on their own loss and its affect on them. But everytime someone remembers a lost one in a sad way doesnt mean theyre focusing on the effect on themselves if you get what i mean. Its so frustrating when u understand this topic of death and wish u could explain to people the real meaning of death but they just dont understand it and get sad.

Does Sikhism have concept of ancestor worship or honouring the dead or holding any prayers for long deceased ancestors in Sikhism?

Hi. I have a question. Can naam Simran be done by reciting Waheguru in your mind rather than your mouth? Is that what the gurus have recommended? Like I can start off with my mouth repeating the word and then slowly I can speak the word in my mind? Please let me know. Thanks.

Do it with your mouth because then you can able to easily hear it and tune your mind and ear in better way to focus on chanting of naam and you should try to keep feeling of love for Waheguru too. If you just do in mind maybe you might hear different thing and maybe your mind may not be attached to naam so do it first with mouth and keep your attention to what mantra you are chanting with your mouth

I lost my mother 2 years ago and I still saw her in my dreams which makes me upset the whole day.. I don't talk about her to anyone bcz i don't want to but why in dreams... ( i had fight with her two months prior to her death..then I had visited her and apologised for whatever i said.. She cried but hugged me and had forgiven me) But my brother and sister blame me for her death(though her heart was not working properly at that time)... This kills me... the birth and death is in God's hands.. I m mother of four daughters.. Sometimes i throw my anger on these innocent.. I couldn't able to chant(which i used to).. Can you help

Love is deeper than mere attraction. You may love even the one you are not attracted to or do not approve of. Love is selfless. Ones who love, continue to love despite any faults, fights and flaws. Mere attraction is lust, not love
