I am a born Jain and not Sikh. I do not have any sikh friends nor am I associated to sikhism in anyway or form. And Recently, out of blue and from no past or present connection i have been drawn to mool mantra and since then have been trying to understand the meaning of it..I came across your discourses on KZbin and have been listening to them since last couple of days.. with a hand on my heart I can say that the gurbani is a way of life for the whole human race and much beyond. After listening to one of your videos i have been reflecting on "Keev sachiara hoe keep Koodai tootai paal, hukam rajai chalna Nanak likhia naal" and the more I analyse my life based on this the more I feel peace within. I feel if I can understand and implement even a bit of the goodness of Gurbani in my life to even a smallest extent it will help all lifetimes. Thanks a zillion

Whenever somebody tells me to change my perspective, my mind immediately pushes back and says it essentially means you are a loser. You can't do anything to change your circumstances, might as well change your perspective. That is just how my mind interprets it.

The only thing I find different in such teachings is that they seem to make us forget that we are here to experience human life in all its wholesomeness.
@amitoj29453 жыл бұрын
we as humans tend to be lost just by experiencing the vast wholesomeness of human life so in order to maintain that we remind ourselves that there is a limit to everything. you have limited time to experience this wholesomeness hence you don't just yourself enjoy but have a moral responsibility to make every possible one experience the richness of life.

PLEASE READ : Gobind “MILAN” ki eh teri bariya... Milan here means MERGE like jado pani dudh ch mil janda it’s value goes up the same way we have to MERGE with God..Okayy sounds all fancy but what does it mean...it all boils down to dissolve the “I”. Sounds fancy but what does it mean....write about yourself on a piece of paper and all your Worries and Desires. That’s all life is a sum of worries and desires and they are born out of each other....ahh now it’s start to make sense. Yes ? So how to dissolve the “I” again sir you ask ?? That list of desires and worries you had, yeah RIP THAT OFF and only worry about getting gyan ( in practical words spend your daily time towards listening to vyakhya videos like Nanak naam) and do not worry about your life, it never was yours to begin with. You were given time to do a task, not to use that time to be able to spend that time in riches and comfort. Hope this helps, All I know is from SACH KHOJ ACADEMY. Look it up...if you care. Life would be exceptionally blissful and perhaps you could also wake up from the sleep (matrix movie was prolly written by an enlightened being a bhagat) ANAND BHAYA MERI MAAYE, sat guru main paaya. Sat-guru means the TRUE WISDOM. WGKKWJKF

In two words "help humanity". Elaboration: Do all the things that will heal mother earth eg, green the environment, save water, save the whales from extinction, help people around you to have a better life, provide food for the needy, etc etcFinally, don't dress in such a way that the youngsters shy away from being Sikhs. Dress like any ordinary Sikh would.

Gurbani is the Words written in *Sri Guru Granth Sahib* the book whom we all Sikhs consider our *Guru (Teacher)* Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (Punjabi: ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ; [ɡʊɾuː ɡɾəntʰᵊ saːhɪbᵊ]), is the central religious text of Sikhism, considered by Sikhs to be the final sovereign Guru of the religion.[1] It contains 1430 Angs (limbs), containing 5,894[2][3] hymns of 36 saint mystics which includes Sikh guru sahiban (6 gurus), Bhagats (15 bhagats), Bhatts (11 bhatts) and gursikhs (4 gursikhs). It is notable among foundational religious scriptures for including hymns from writers of other religions, namely Hindus and Muslims. It also contains teachings of Sikh gurus themselves. Categorization of authors Edit Scholars categorize the authors of the Guru Granth Sahib into four groups: Sikh Gurus Bhagats Bhatts Gursikhs Sikh gurus Edit Main article: Sikh gurus Philosophically, Sikhs are bound to believe in Shabad Guru - the words written in the Guru Granth Sāhib ji - but the general belief is that the Sikh Gurus established Sikhism over the centuries, beginning in the year 1469. The hymns of six Sikh Gurus are in the Guru Granth Sahib: Guru Nanak Dev ji Guru Angad Dev ji Guru Amar Das ji Guru Ram Das ji Guru Arjan Dev ji Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Bhagats Edit In the below list, the Bhagats (Punjabi: ਭਗਤ, from Sanskrit भक्त) were holy men of various sects whose teachings are included in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Their bani[clarification needed] come under the title Bani Bhagtaan Ki. The word "Bhagat" means devotee, and comes from the Sanskrit word Bhakti, which means devotion and love. Bhagats evolved a belief in one God that preceded Kabir's selecting the writings of the great Hindu Bhaktis and Sufi saints. The 15 Bhagat authors were:[4] Bhagat Kabir Bhagat Ravidas Bhagat Farid Bhagat Ramanand Bhagat Beni Bhagat Namdev Bhagat Sadhana Bhagat Bhikhan Bhagat Parmanand Bhagat Sain Bhagat Dhanna Bhagat Pipa Bhagat Surdas Bhagat Jaidev Bhagat Trilochan Bhatts Edit Many Hindu Saraswat Brahmins who started to follow the word of Guru Nanak Dev were known as Bhatts, meaning bards. The 11 Bhatt authors were: Bhatt Kalshar Bhatt Balh Bhatt Bhalh Bhatt Bhika Bhatt Gayand Bhatt Harbans Bhatt Jalap Bhatt Kirat Bhatt Mathura Bhatt Nalh Bhatt Salh Gursikhs Edit Bhai Sundar Ji, Bhai Mardana Ji, Bhai Satta Ji, Bhai Balwand Ji Individuals and their contributions Edit Background Details and No. of Hymns Name Timeline No. of Hymns Guru Nanak 15th Century 974[5] Guru Angad 16th Century 62[5] Guru Amar Das 16th Century 907[5] Guru Ram Das 16th Century 679[5] Guru Arjan 16th Century 2218[5] Guru Tegh Bahadur 17th Century 116[5] Bhagat Jaidev 13th Century[3] 2 Bhagat Farid 13th Century 134[2][note 1][note 2] Bhagat Ramanand 14th Century 1 Bhagat Namdev 14th Century 62 Bhagat Trilochan 14th Century 5 Bhagat Parmanand 14th Century 1 Bhagat Dhanna 14th Century 4 Bhagat Bhikhan 14th Century 2 Bhagat Beni 14th Century 3 Bhagat Pipa 14th Century 1 Bhagat Sain 14th Century 1 Bhagat Surdas 14th Century 2 Bhagat Sadhana 14th Century 1 Bhagat Ravidas 15th Century 41 Bhagat Kabir 15th Century 541[5][note 3] Baba Sundar 15th Century 6 Satta and Balvand 15th Century 1 var[3] Bhatt Kalshar 15th Century 54 Bhatt Balh 15th Century 5 Bhatt Bhalh 15th Century 1 Bhatt Bhika 15th Century 2 Bhatt Gayand 15th Century 13 Bhatt Harbans 15th Century 2 Bhatt Jalap 15th Century 5 Bhatt Kirat 15th Century 8 Bhatt Mathura 15th Century 14 Bhatt Nalh 15th Century 16 Bhatt Salh 15th Century 3

I have 1 question according to Sikhism we have to control our 5 thief five thieves are kaam (lust), krodh (rage), lobh (greed), moh (attachment) and ahankar (conceit) do u believe that if we control this then a chance of person to merge in god is easy?
Extremely good food for the soul How about talking about. Hurting people,,,,,,, will cheating and blunders made would come back to me as bad karmic deeds as said would come back You being Sikh yourself what does our guru says about it Looking for an answer for more clarity. God bless you.
