Remembering Past Events (Extended Version) - (Unreleased Mark Menza track) - (DVD Rip)

Full version of the track from the Mark Menza score of Dragon Ball GT that played in the final scene, in episode 64. A shortened version of this exists courtesy of the DVD menus, but this is the first relatively clean rip of the entire track.
Background:
There's not a whole lot to say here really about the method that I used to make this, other than the fact that it's pretty much the same as in my last couple of videos, I combined the use of Spleeter and ISSE again. One thing I will say though is that this took a LOT of effort, as practically every part had vocals that needed removing. Luckily Spleeter's AI made this much easier. I wasn't able to 100% remove every vocal but most of the leftovers are barely noticeable. It was impossible to remove any more without damaging the track. Sadly I wasn't able to retain every single piece of music, as I could not completely separate it from the "vocals" stem, but it's the best I could do. This is probably as good as this can possibly be so I hope you enjoy it. The first minute or so is just audio from the aforementioned DVD menu version in case there's anybody wondering why it sounds so clean compared to the rest of the track.

Well thanks! Glad you like it. The section you're referring to was by far the hardest part to do, due to how loud the narrator is, but luckily I got almost all of it ripped clean. I also left in the sound effect of Nimbus flying away purely for nostalgia :)

@@Dragon-Ball-Legacy Just a quick question, is this going to be an issue for every track with vocals in it or is it more prevalent in this track because the vocals are echoey and the narrator loud?

Sort of. Ultimately it depends on what the AI in one of the programs that I use (Spleeter) determines to be a vocal or not. It works really well when the music is louder and the vocals are low, and when there isn't say, a lot of yelling. Sometimes the vocals that the AI removes brings some of the music with it, and I can't separate it even with the source separation program that I use. Another factor can be the actual music itself. If the track say, has a lot of piano, it's easy to see where each individual piano note is in ISSE (the source separation program I use), so then I give the software a guide that tells it where the piano note is, and then it determines that this is what I want to keep, so it separates it from whatever sound effect or voice that's there. This is how I did the part of the SSJ Vegeta theme where I removed Vegeta's yelling about half way through the track. While that works for the piano, it's hard for the Menza tracks because they are relatively quiet and the instruments are hard to pinpoint, so I struggle to completely remove the vocals without sacrificing music quality. I actually had a look at one of the ones you suggested, the SSJ theme one from when SSJ4 Goku powers up against Baby after getting the other Saiyan's energy, it looks pretty difficult because Goku's voice is pretty loud (not saying it's impossible though). Another one that I checked was the one that plays when Pan shows Golden Great Ape Goku the photograph, which seems a little easier because there's less vocals and Pan talks with a low tone.

Also another thing worth noting, this track is pretty long (one of the reasons why I did it first), so that also came into play with how easy it was for the AI to remove vocals, because it generally performs better when it has less to work with, so smaller tracks in the future should probably be cleaner.

i do think there's some seriously muffled parts like the very near end of the track but for the most part especially the very end of it its pretty clean thanks for doing this one since it is the best track in gt's soundtrack for such a good end

Thanks! Yeh I explained this before to another commenter a while back but the final part of the track was the hardest to rip, mainly because of the narrator's voice being a little too loud. Even today I still don't think I could have done any better, despite being much better at ripping overall, but I'm glad you still enjoy it and that's all that matters.

Yeah for me it's the opposite, I find most of the Japanese osts tend to be a little too chip tuney sounding and fun which works great for Dragon Ball but Z and GT had much more edge and grit so I think the hard rock sound definitely suits dbz/gt much better but at the end of the day it's all pretty subjective, I know people who hate the english and japanese version and prefer the latin one. I respect them all
