A revival of the X2 would be sooooo awesome! As long as it's similar to the 1st gen with really good carving ability, the wacky factor that it had, be lightweight, etc. I think the gen 2 with the SXR hull (Japan only?) that came out was decent (and looked friggin' awesome) but lacked the quirkiness and fun of the original. ktm640duke's carbon fiber X2 build is what I would envision.

Say what you will about Polaris watercraft reliability but that MSX 150 was a real thriller! Very unique deck design. Hull felt like the SeaDoo phoenix hull

Imagine the comments..."will I get wet if I ride the X2, does it come with audio?? 😂 😂 Those times are long gone, I wish someone made a small pwc, not the spark not the blaster, smaller! Nimble! And tippy! I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

That is funny . Was out on my x2 tonight. You can't not get wet . Lake was glass and still sprayed..

Yep. X2 is also like a horse. It'll buck you off of it unexpectedly for no discernible reason.

Back in 93 my first PWC purchase was a Polaris 650 ( it was around $5700ish with a trailer and two life vests out the door, back in Miami Fl) now the only cool thing about it was the TDR water box that I installed so it would sound like an inboard/outboard 350 Chevy! Now that said, not even a year later my good friend sold me his 95 Sea-Doo XP 720 that he only used a couple of times, the Sea-Doo made the Polaris feel like if I was riding a loveseat. Then soon after Sea-Doo released the 96 800 XP, I quickly sold the 720 XP for the 800 XP (Just under 8K new with a trailer back in Miami Fl) and that 800 XP was with till 2013 when I had my first two girls!! This is where the PWC manufactures have lost their way, as todays PWC market, the pricing, sizing, and weight have all gotten out of control. If the idea is to move units then bring back a sub 10K ski, that is fun to ride, easy to own and maintain and mostly tunable. Let the aftermarket do its part in bring out more power and riding dynamics, and let the entry price point be so low that it almost impulse buy and low cost of entry into the PWC lifestyle is a no-brainer. Not everyone has the disposable income to make a 25K+ purchase on a recreational toy regardless if it's purchased or financed, if the entry price point is under 10K you could sell two units for every one unit at todays price points.

My marina had 2 mercury PWC on a trailer for years before bulk trashed with 230 units from early 90’s to 2020 miss looking at them but the old racks were collapsing and taking up space . Can’t believe owner saved over 200 units over the years and just threw them out by the semi truck load

When I was a pwc mechanic in the early 2000’s, I worked at a large Yamaha and Kawasaki dealership in south Jersey. We had 2 of the mercury watercrafts come into the shop for running issues. They were pretty cool for the time. Could they handle with the current gpr at the time, no but they were definitely a contender to raider or zxi style models. But I did get them all dialed up for the owner. Had to rebuild the carbs. Had to pay attention to all the settings and make sure i didn’t mis-match jets bc there was no service info for them.

That would be awesome! Unfortunately I think they are more likely to give us the type of ski that requires some skill to ride yet is an absolute blast leaving you exhausted when putting it on the trailer than Yamaha. 😢
