Thanks for this. As a Canadian, I was 17 when Drop Dead Fred came out. He was Drop Dead Fred for me until around 2010 when KZbin showed me he was so much more. So underrated. He should have been a global star.

'Lost' isn't how anyone would describe Riks contribution to UK comedy

Physically we've lost him, but his comedy will live forever

You've shown a lot of important steps of his career - and there are still so many more: huge audiowork, animation films, Hogs of war, theatre plays like Waiting for Godot, the famous Nintendo & other adverts, feature films, Rik Mayall Presents, The Comicstrip Presents, & last but not least hilarious video & audio interviews!❤ Rik was just fantastic & could have played quite different styles of character than most - handsome, ugly, evil, funny - not many are able to do this! That's why he will live on for sure! Loved his fans till the end!❤❤

I love Rik and always have done. The funnest thing i ever saw was him doing bottom live obviously with Aid and THE SAD AND TRAGIC NEWS bit. Was the show in Southampton and was just epic. Man ive never laughed so much then and probably since. Epic real legend of comedy and an awesome writer as well. Ive always wondered what Rik would be like on mock the week next to Greg Davis. Aww the dad jokes would be amazing. Hit this mans video up everyone!!!!!!! Havant thought about him in ages and its really made my night x Keep it going mate just subbed.

One of the greats. Although I think you have to be the right age for the Ade-Rik double acts. Much as I loved The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Bottom never really worked for me. Yet people 10 years younger absolutely revere those shows. I think you age out of anarchy.

We've missed out on 10 years of his genius because of bloody exercise How ironic Sometimes I imagine his final moments, keeling over while probably going "huh, oh bugger" with the face like Ritchie on Bottom

Never funny, just being honest. Rik Mayall was always at level 10 out of 10. he screamed and screeched every role he played. I loved anarchy and the sex pistols back then, but Rik Mayall was always trying to be "controversial"

But that was him himself! Beside that he was able to play any other kind of character like in The Bill, Dancing Queen, 4 men in a car & 100s of other things. Not just crazy stuff!❤❤
