There's a show that used to come on after SNL back in the late 80s-90s called 'Night Music,' hosted by David Sanborn. It's a great show that showcases jazz and international music. Thank you, David, for the great introduction to some of the best music. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Kenny G was the "Kenny G of the '80s." Before his solo career, David Sanborn was a sought after session musician for blues, R&B, Rock and jazz artists since the '60s. Sanborn even played at Woodstock. Many records from the '70s of popular artists? That's Dave on sax.

David was playing professionally starting in the the late 1960's. He was onstage at Woodstock. If anything , Kenny G was the David Sanborn of the 80's. Before Kenny ever made an album, Sanborn has played with David Bowie and Stevie Wonder, just to name 2. Trust me, your comment was twisted backwards.

My prayers and condolences to his family. 🙏🏾 I think Anita Baker needs to step away from performing until she gets a handle on whatever is going with her life. I remember the first time I heard her and I played her cd driving across country. I saw her twice in concert and at that time she was awesome, that was in the beginning of her career. JLo is trying to compete with Taylor and Beyoncé and her career was never on that level. Just my opinion and I was never a big fan.

David Sanborn was amazing! He was also featured on Carly Simon's 'You Belong to Me'. Which, incidentally, Anita Baker covered years ago also... Praying for Anita Baker. I really love her music, but I thought when she said she was retiring years ago and did a tour, why did she return? I think she should have just retired a few years ago. I think after that divorce drama, things just haven't been the same with her. Luv her though. God bless her....

Thank you for this great report on the scoop I care about. RIP David Sanborn. I have seen him in concert. Wonderful. My favorite work of his in addition to the album Double Vision with Bob James is his work with my boy Al Jarreau. I adored So Good, Since I fell for you and especially We Got by Al Jarreau featuring David Sanborn. I am so sorry to hear this news about Anita Baker. I bet it is health related. I have seen her so many times I lost count. I was there at the Luther/ Anita concert. She was phenomenal! I don't know what happened but, I was so satisfied and enthralled with her show, I forgot Luther was coming out next. LOL He was phenom also. Then I saw her once where Gladys Knight was on first, where I forgot Anita was coming out next. I mean who can follow Gladys successfully. LOL Every time I have seen Anita back in the day, without the limp, she was so gracious and audibly spreading love and appreciation for her fans. She never missed an opportunity to speak of her appreciation of the audience. So I wonder if she is well if all I am hearing and reading is true. I wish her well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her music, always have and always will. I wish her the best, and balance. It is too bad that our legends have to tour relentlessly even though they are tired and in pain. They did not get paid their due back in the day like the artists now who have a fraction of the talent, but get paid so much.

The streaming services conned people to cut the cable cord. They used to bundle several streaming services. After a lot of people stopped cable/satellite service and started streaming packages, streaming did a bait and switch and started breaking up into individual services. Then, they started slowly increasing their prices little by little.

I saw her a few years ago in Atlanta when she first came out of her long absence and she was amazing. We sang so much that she had to take a seat at the piano and ask us if wanted her to sing the song! I heard it was 15 minutes before the show that they cancelled. No! Man, Double Vision was the first jazz cd I ever purchased. A few years ago, David Sanborn, Bob James and Marcus Miller finally did a tour to perform that album. I went to see them and got to meet and mingle with them. He was so personable and engaging. It's a memory I cherish ... even more now. ❤

I,too,❤my local news but I’m about to cut the cable because I’ve discovered that I can watch my local news live on their app. Last time I called, Comcast manipulated me😂& told me I’d only save $5/mo by cutting cable & keeping WiFi. RIP David Sanborn, "Maputo" from the album "Doublevision was the song that got me into jazz. Loved playing David on Sunday mornings to get my mine right for the week. He will be missed. It may be time for Anita to hang it up or wait until she is physically and in the right mind set. Jlo, please just take a break, you do not have to be seen everywhere. I think both of these ladies might need to call it a day with concerts. Some times staying relevant is not always a good thing.

Oh Patty, it broke my heart to hear you announce David Sanborn’s passing 🥹 Double Vision was one of his amazing albums in my collection! I put him right up there with Grover Washington Jr. Such a phenomenal sax player! I have seen him in concert and he was a powerhouse on stage and quite shy like off stage. He seemed to be a very sweet humble man. Always approachable. RIP Mr. Sanborn. You’re going to be deeply missed. 😢 My condolences to his family. It seems to me Anita Baker needs to sit down and be quiet since she’s not saying anything anyway! So many negative things said about her diva attitude. Her fans deserve an apology. This is off the suggest but Frankie Beverly performed in Los Angeles last night.
