Stone Temple Pilots ABSOLUTELY belong in the Rock Hall. Sadly, they will probably have to battle the consensus of critical snobbery over the last three decades that they were just a very successful derivative of the Seattle bands, when in fact, by their third album, they were a lot more Bowie than Cobain or Cornell. You are very missed, Scott.

Weiland and STP as a band have impacted me greatly. You hear Plush and Interstate Love Song and think, wow these guys are great; but then you delve into the deep cuts, acoustic and unplugged material, for instance Atlanta, Seven Caged Tigers, Kitchenware and Candy Bars, Hello It’s Late (till you name em all) and realize how versatile a band they really are. Some songs are so intimate and strike you personally, yet others can be played at party settings or chillin with friends. Phenomenal band.

He has not been given the recognition that he so deserves....because he couldn't get clean.Give me a break so many great artists have died from drug addiction, they are still glorified for their talent.I will never understand why he was scrutinized for his addiction which sadly he could not overcome(despite numerous attempts)when he is only one of many famous artists to die from this.He was one of the best vocalist of his time, and it deeply saddens me he isn't remembered for his talent...not for the way he passed.RIP Scott you were AMAZING❤❤❤❤

Saw them in 1999 and 2008 in 08 he just reunited with STP after velvet revolver I think he might have cleaned himself up but the show was at Casino Morongo in California I had a crappy seat and paid good money for it I talked to a security guard he told me to sit in the front row when the band starts standup there was about 10-15 feet before the stage of standing only No one was in front of me but STP coolest show I’ve ever seen they sounded great my buddy got a guitar pick from the DeLeo brothers .. Utter chills and tears from this tribute to an exceptional gifted frontman. Scott Weiland was one of the last true frontmen STP are totally underrated in the annals of rock. Scott as a solo artist was a virtouso on 12 bar blues and unlike any of his stp material. Another rock icon gone way too soon Rip Scott Weiland.

I think about the time I saw Scott live during their final farewell show in 2002 in Florida, and they put on one of the best shows ever but if you had been front row like I was you would have been able to truly tell that the band was not getting along. Their was definitely bad blood in that band and I saw Scott as someone who could be gentle one minute and the next totally a different human being. I remember waving hi to him and he completed shunned me like I was a nobody. Regardless, I never stopped loving this band and prayed for many years that the day wouldn't come but that day finally did on December of 2015 around one of the darkest times in my life. You are missed sir weiland.
