COZY was a drummer with the POWER of a DOWNHILL ROLLERCOASTER and the PRECISION of an ATOMIC CLOCK 💪💪⚡⚡☀☀ He was just UNSTOPPABLE ....I remember hearing his drumming on the Live Version of Blackmore's 'KILL the KING' on the 'ONSTAGE ' ALBUM in 1977 as a young teen & I remember feeling like I'd been hit by a DIESEL ! ...Cozy was ONE OF A KIND .Being a musician playing alongside COZY must have felt like RIDING ON A CANNONBALL ... Like with FREDDIE or like with EDWARD we must try not to feel too sad they are gone but to feel GLAD THEY EVER CAME AMONG US AT ALL ....What they gave to us was GLORIOUS.. We must CELEBRATE THEM with the passion & intensity that is in THIS song. . (Paul)

I love the way Cozy Powell plays into the songs rather than simply providing foundations. The best ever for me.

Always remember when I saw you with Cozy Powell in Aston years ago. Loved it. He did an amazing solo drum performance.

In 1993 me and my mum was fortunate that we were both at your concert in Budapest. I then saw Cozy playing live, and so the sounding of the band was so powerfully strong and brilliant that I dare to say was even more powerful than it could have been with Roger Taylor behind the drums. No wonder Cozy played in heavy metal bands. That concert was also the first one that I saw you playing live. Your voice was absolutely brilliant, soft and full of emotions still strong enough for the songs. I will never forget that evening in the rest of my life.🎉 Take good care of you, and have a wonderful new year! Lots of love❤ Éva from Budapest.

On July 20th, 1976 at Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal, I attended a concert by Rainbow. I've seen many live bands since, but this was one of the most powerful lineups I've ever seen and heard. On guitar of course was Ritchie Blackmore and on vocals Ronnie James Dio. In addition there were Tony Carey on keyboards, Jimmy Bain on bass and Cozy Powell on drums. One could not ask for better musicians, yet Cozy Powell left a deep impression as he played like a raging locomotive all evening. I was stunned after that show!!! Thank you for sharing this video, I love it!

@@phoenix123392 Well done…..yes. And they mustn’t use them in that ‘Grand National’ thing either. Injuring them for human ‘entertainment’ and betting. It’s not right. Even when I was a kid and I would see the race on my Granny and Grandad’s colour tv in the early 1970s I felt queazy about it…. And the bizarre thing was, the main winner at that time was ‘RED RUM’…which is ‘MURDER’ spelled backwards. As in the humans making a dangerous course to murder the horses. (Paul)

I'm sure a lot of people of my generation have their fond memories of COZY. Especially the MUSICIANS who worked with him. .....Cozy was a real 'Motor Freak'....He loved to race Cars God love him but also MOTOR BIKES. Cozy & Steve McQueen would have got on well together. In the late 1970s /early 1980s Cozy release his first SOLO album which was titled 'OVER THE TOP' which had a number of other great musicians playing on it. But it had this album front cover photo of COZY on his Motor Bike rocketing right OVER THE TOP of his Yamaha DRUMKIT ! ....& what's so spectacular was he actually MADE THE JUMP over the kit in the Photo ! ...I don't think it was a composite photo image or like a modern computer image 'photoshop' ....It was a REAL image of Cozy literally DOING an Evel Knievel stunt....He took risks bless him but he lived an INCREDIBLE life ❤🙏 (Paul)
