Kobe Bryant was more than a man...he was a legend. And some legends need the proper context to appropriately define them. See what made Kobe Bryant one of, if not THE BEST player in basketball history.

@adariusdixon8496 You people reek of selective memory loss, championing this guy as incredibly unique, exemplary, and comparable to Jordan. I trouble sullying his ethics, but this hard-working, devoted player was charged with rape. Obviously, that allegation has been expunged since no trial took place, meaning the charges were fallacious. Strange, however, that the person alleging the despicable act was mysteriously enriched by 5 million dollars; and Kobe's wife was gifted with a new diamond ring. Personally, I would rather be charged with murdering a man than raping a woman. It's such a disgusting act, a man salvaging a defenseless woman by invading her body. I would request a mask in court to conceal my identity because of the consummate embarrassment. What "man" does something so licentious, dehumanizing? If Kobe were not rich and famous, he probably would have experienced his victim's humiliation and pain in the joint, which he may or may not have liked. I digress, Kobe always had a notable center for his five chips. Jordan didn't; and don't insult his legacy by mentioning a 16.1 points per game role player, Pip-squeak, as help. Finally, Kobe would allow his inflated ego to negatively effect games. That's a tangible part of his legacy as well. He's no goat.

Just like Larry bird and Michael Jordan, he had the similar competitive spirit, which is hard to tell apart. Kobe’s drive and leadership that he showed especially in the last two Finals with Gasol as the second best is a great case for his legendary status.

Kobe Bryant has one challenge. He never went to college and had to learn lots of lessons the hard way. BUT he learned them, being truly great walking among the giants of his era. Top 5 for me and an easy argument for Top 10 for anyone.

@@hardwoodthought1213 By "more," you mean more Finals loses. More super teams, took more plays off and disappeared more in the second half. Had more diva moments and traded more players, to get more superstars only to get swept more. LBJ had great longevity in a time when you only have to play half a game - less no defense - less titles - it was easy to be great in this era and he still ain't the GOAT. LBJ is not Top 10 and couldn't carry Kobe's water. Achieved less if you ask me.

Kobe had 14 seasons with an All-NBA teammate 😂 funny thing is how did LBJ always be his teams best player on superteams whilst Kobe was his own teams second best player despite no superteam? Also, Kobe had superteams in 98/04/13, lost every time More diva moments? Kobe refused to be drafted by half the league 😂 demanded trades in 00/04/07 😂 took max money when washed 😂 forced out Shaq and Jackson 😂 isolated Howard, the only superstar who ever willingly played with him 😂 raped someone and complained when the private plane LA paid for him to go to trial wasn’t good enough 😂 quit in a Game 7 after blowing a 3-1 lead to prove a point 😂 was on camera telling some college kids Bynum should be traded 😂 has half a dozen teammates openly say they disliked him 😂 But LBJ has more diva moments LMFAO 4 rings as the guy >>>> 3 rings as a second option and 2 as the guy Worse at defence yet finished 2nd in DPOY voting twice What more did Kobe achieve? 1 more ring with again backup role, that’s it. LBJ has more of virtually everything else plus the statistics 😂😂😂😂

I agree that Kobe was a better player but its close between them to say who achieved more because Lebron has 4 mvps to 1 4 fmvps to 2. More all star selection and all nba selektions BUT Kobe didnt jump from team to team and scoring titles Kobe 2 Lebron 1 but Lebron do have an assist title but Kobe has 12 all defense selection Lebron 6 and most important Kobe has 5 rings to Lebron 4. Kobe 1 3 peat Lebron 0. Lebron 6 final losses Kobe 2 and again Kobe didnt jump from team to team to form suoerteams. Kobe also saved Lebron international legacy because Lebron had lost in 04 and 06 and when Kobe came i. 08 they won again. Lebron does average better numbers then Kobe but thats also dur to the facts that the league has become so easy to scorer in the last 7-8 years

The 2000-2002 & 2008-2010 playoff runs are amongst the greatest playoff runs all time. The Western Conference playoffs were an absolute gauntlet in the 2000s. It was almost always a forgone conclusion that whichever team came out the west was winning the championship. That should tell everyone how much better the Western Conference was during that time.

I think many people call Kobe a shot chucker because they only watch individual highlights of him. What they don't watch are the actual games. Kobe would go full quarters without shooting the ball, and he would just function within the offense, and control traffick defensively. He was always moving, and he was always directing his teammates on the court, and on the bench. Kobe was always making minor adjustments to the Lakers offense, and defense. He was a student of the game despite being a masterful player. No amount of knowledge could satisfy Kobe's drive to learn more about everything in life. During a lot of Kobe's greatest scoring games, he didn't even play the entire 4th quarter, and sometimes his night ended in the 3rd quarter if his team had a huge lead. Kobe could turn on, and turn off his offensive explosions almost at will. One of the best documentaries of Kobe is called "Kobe Doin Work", and it's a true representation of who Kobe was as a player, and a leader during games, and before games in the locker room.

Less help, work your game, lift your team mates up, play every game as much as possible and make no excuse even when loosing. I even heard when Kobe's daughter was sent in the hospital that he did not sleep at all but yet he attended work and manage to perform. Unlike Lechoke when defeat make excuses like how hard it is to be a father. Like duh all dad's do that. I am a dad as well so I know but it is unprofessional to have that excuse in working environment but yet again media keeps lifting the guy. Anyway to the real and to real people understand greatness Kobe should be at least top 5. Good job. Thank you so much.

Then stayed throughout the times of bad rosters and ultimately gave his body and soul for the love of the game! I remember 2014-2016 when they were calling him a "ballhog" and "always jacking up shots" and that he needed to "hang it up." I remember all of that then all of a sudden he's recieving all of this love? He should have gotten it when he was here. He needed to hear that. But with that being said, great video Skap Attack. Two things that strike me when I watch Kobe's interviews or media clips are 1) how articulate and well-spoken he was 2) how conscientious a student of NBA history he was. He clearly was very intelligent, had an inquisitive nature and loved basketball in and of itself, on top of everything else, and I think this is part of what set him apart from the rest of the pack on the grand historical scale, it wasn't just talent and work ethic.
