Do you agree? Does Kobe have a legit case to be crowned the NBA's GOAT? Also check out the other videos (Bill and Wilt) in my GOAT series. More GOAT videos to come...

Jonny Arnett -NBA KZbinr bro I love Kobe but gimme a damn break how can he be the Goat when he has 1 league MVP? 5-2 in the finals w only 3 MVPs, never was the DPOY & copies most if not all his moves from MJ?? He’s the closest thing to MJ but he’s nowhere near MJ. I can go on & on & on but that’s all I need to say right there. They lost to the pistons w ShaQ!! That’s all that needs to be said. Also lost the Celtics in game 6 of the finals by 39!! Nice try tho

kyle Messineo Keep in mind that this is a GOAT series. If you don’t like this GOAT video, there will be at least 5 other vids of mine, making other player’s GOAT cases. I’ve already done 2 others, and several more on their way. I’m sure you’ll agree with one of them, unless Brian Scalabrine is your GOAT.... lol

Jonny Arnett -NBA KZbinr So you decided to start w the best big man of all time & Kobe who’s not even in the Goat convo?
@jonnyarnett5 жыл бұрын
kyle Messineo Being in the conversation and actually being the GOAT are two different things entirely. Many would disagree with the idea that’s he’s not in the conversation at all. Quite literally he’s in the conversation because many people believe he is and claim he is. It’s not like being the “GOAT” is something you can objectively win, so it’s up to peoples interpretation. Plus I did a poll, and over 50% wanted Kobe’s GOAT video next, so that explains the order.

Dude. How do you possibly leave out that Kobe is tied with Jordan & 2 other players for the NBA record for the most NBA all defensive first team selections with 9. Nine times. How do you possibly leave out that Kobe is 3rd on the all time scoring list. This video was wrong at 1:33 when it said Kobe was 4th on the all time scoring list. LeBron is 4th, Kobe Bryant ist actually 3rd. Every Kobe fan knows these things, Jesus Christ. C'mon man you're embarrassing us.

Awesome video! My favorite player is Wilt and a friend of mine’s favorite player is Kobe, gotta love both! My favorite Kobe Bryant story is that he was practicing shooting hoops and was consistently missing, he talked with an official, they took their measurements and he was right, the hoop was wrong at the wrong measurement by a slight amount, that’s why he was missing, and he was so hardworking that he even got the measurement that it was off right solely by trying to make some hoops.

KOBE BEAN BRYANT aka MR.National Bryant Association is tha GOAT he played through more contratversty than any player including broken bones, weak ass teammates, Shaq antics which I can only imagine be alot on anyone and also the one thing that I looked at as inspiration is when he was battling his legal battles and making a way to play tha same day as his legal trials and not only playing but play like tha best in tha world for tha fans and this man freedom was in tha balance getting lost but he didn't think about that legal matter cause when he stepped on a NBA COURT it was about putting a show on for tha fans. It’s crazy how people think Kobe isn’t in the top 10. I grew up a Celtics fan. I remember yelling at my TV when the lakers met the Celtics in 2008. I was literally yelling that they should double team him. I hated Kobe for that. But I grew to love him as a player. People will say oh he’s not clutch cause he has missed a lot of shots in clutch moment. But it’s shown that in the 4th quarter he’s one of the players you want on the court because of his ability to bring his team back, whether scoring or setting up his teammates whether through assists or just setting up a team mate without getting an assist for it
@deancamba28205 жыл бұрын
Another important thing to note is that Kobe missed the chance to compete for the championship in many years of his career when he should have: a. When Chris Paul was not allowed by the NBA to go to the Lakers b. When Steve nash and Dwight Howard got injured c. The times when Andrew Bynum got injured I know great players always have their down years waiting for good teammates to be drafted or traded before being able to compete for a championship even MJ and LBJ had those years, for Kobe it was after Shaq left. but Kobe's was in a different level, it was almost as if whenever he gets a chance to compete, bad things happen to the team and he would have to wait again. If these things did not happen i see Kobe winning more than 6 rings easily. He even got 5 Rings in his career for God's sake how did he do that? The answer is in the title of this video...

@@WalkingthroughNYC I love how you bring up one series, yet fail to bring up Effective Shooting Percentage in your argument whatsoever. Because you know a guy like Shaq is bound to have a higher percentage since hes only shooting 2s from 3ft man. You dont know basketball. Why do you think Wilt had 60% shooting a lot, because hes a better shooter than Curry? Hell no. Thats why % in shooting is skewed and favors slashers and big men, rather than guards. Hell, people say Kobe is inefficient when averaging 4% less than Lebron for his career even though if you compare Kobe to other guards in his era and conference shooting more than 10 shots a game (aka volume shooters, in the same ISO heavy offense which itself was inefficient and the game was dominated by defensive teams w/ 80-90 pts being the norm) his percentage was above average by 2-3% every year. Not to mention, 30 pts is more impressive in a 90 pt game than a 120 pt game. More possessions, a worse defensive era, and rules designed to help the offense are bound to boost modern players' stats overall by default. This is the issue when comparing greats. You have to look at everything in context, otherwise you're comparing apples and oranges. Im going to ignore the fact you mentioned a series where Kobe was injured throughout, yet failed to mention the playoffs of those 3 years where a majority of the time Kobe's output was better than Shaq's and his effective shooting percentage was higher :). Sorry you dont know basketball.

The thing with Kobe Bryant is that the kids that are watching the NBA right now, don't remember him playing. They didn't get to watch him play how they did LeBron, and those others that make the MJ argument are old farts that most likely stopped watching the NBA once MJ stopped playing. I know I stopped watching when Kobe retired. Tried and watched a few games when LeBron was there, but he just didn't bring the same type of energy as Kobe did.

My strong No. 2 behind Mike. He's one of the few players in the 3+ decades I've been watching basketball that had those moments where ya just knew ya were watching something special, much less someone that did it as often as he somehow managed to. That Mamba Mentality is real and Mike had the same thing as did greats like Iverson, Kareem, Bill Russel, and even underrated players that played through injuries to carry their team like Chris Webber. And he definitely wasn't playing second to Shaq and even Shaq has had to admit that. I loved seeing the Kobe x Pau era too, they had phenomenal chemistry. Despite the rough play competing for gold ya could tell they had much love and respect between em. And both were playing through bad injuries and conditions but still dominated. It's a close No. 2 to say the least lol Mamba is really his own beast. RIP.

@lonewolf25914 жыл бұрын
Dr Freddostein stat wise yes. Lebron is a better all around player. He does a little of everything. Kobe is way more skillful than lebron and it’s not even close. He had so much in his offensive arsenal than lebron it’s laughable. Kobe had shaq yes, Kobe after that spent a good amount time wasting his prime with scrubs. He got Paul and won two straight. Kobe literally drug his team to the finals and won. Even with shaq and pau, no one carried Kobe. He always put up his numbers. Go check stats. If it wasn’t for Kobe, shaq would just have 1 with wade. Kobe would still have more titles than shaq. If they never played together. Kobe is the most disrespected nba player ever. Kobe never left to a different team like lebron to win titles. Kobe a different breed. For you as a mj fan I’m assuming is just ridiculous to say lebron better than Kobe.I’m a bulls fan and I know mj is goat then Kobe and possibly lebron at 3rd all time.
@drfredostein44104 жыл бұрын
Lone Wolf 1. It doesn’t matter how you put the ball in the hoop, it only matters if you can get it in the hoop. I don’t care how “skillful” Kobe was in scoring, all that matters is that he’s 13th all time in PPG at 24.99 and Lebron is 4th all time at 27.1. 2. Shaq was the most dominant force in the history of basketball, who was in his prime! He dominated those NBA Finals and was clearly the best player on those Lakers teams. The Lakers could’ve won with T-Mac, Ray Allen and even Steve Francis. 3. KOBE DID NOT DRAG THOSE TEAMS TO THE FINALS!!!!! They had Pau, D-Fish, Bynum, Artest, Odom etc. You could even argue that Pau was the better player in those 3 years! Kobe sucked big time in 2008 and especially in 2010, and in 2009 he faced a sucky Magic team. 4. Go check the stats on Kobe in the NBA Finals, sucky! - 2000 NBA Finals Game 5 - 37 minutes, 4/20 20% shooting, 0/1 from 3, 20% eFG, 8 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, 5 fouls, -22 plus/minus, 55 offensive rating and 128 defensive rating. - 2000 NBA Finals Game 6 (Won series by 5)- 45 minutes, 8/27 on 29.6% shooting, 2/6 from 3 33.3%, 33.3% eFG, 26 points, 10 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 4 fouls, +7 plus/minus, 103 offensive rating and 120 defensive rating. - 2001 NBA Finals Game 1 (OT) (Loss by 6)- 52 minutes, 7/22 31.8% shooting, 15 points, 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 6 turnovers, 4 fouls, -6 plus/minus, 67 offensive rating and 112 defensive rating - 2004 NBA Finals Game 1 (Loss by 12) - 47 minutes, 10/27 37% shooting, 1/6 16.7% from 3, 38.9% eFG, 25 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, -12 plus/minus, 94 offensive rating and 102 defensive rating. - Game 3 of the 2004 Finals (Loss by 20 with a 1-1 series tie)- Kobe, on 45 minutes, shot 4/13 from the field on 30.8% shooting, 0/4 from 3, 3/3 from the line, 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers, 3 fouls, 11 points and a -20 plus/minus - 2004 NBA Finals Game 4 (Loss by 8)- 45 minutes, 8/25 32% shooting, 2/6 33.3% from 3, 36% eFG, 20 points, 0 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 3 fouls, -8 plus/minus, 72 offensive rating and 105 defensive rating. - 2004 NBA Finals Game 5 facing elimination (Loss by 13) - 46 minutes, 7/21 33.3% shooting, 0/2 from 3, 24 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, -19 plus/minus, 100 offensive rating and 125 defensive rating. - 2008 NBA Finals Game 1 (Loss by 10)- 42 minutes, 9/26 34.6%, 0/3 from 3, 24 points, 3 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers, 3 fouls, -13 plus/minus, 81 offensive rating and 112 defensive rating - 2008 NBA Finals Game 4 (Loss by 6)- 43 minutes, 6/19 31.6% shooting, 0/2 from 3, 17 points, 4 boards, 10 assists, 4 steals, 2 turnovers, 4 fouls, -9 plus/minus, 93 offensive rating and 103 defensive rating. - Game 6 of the 2008 Finals facing elimination (Loss by 39)- 42 minutes, shot 7/22 from the field on 31.8% shooting, 3/9 from 3, 5/5 from the line, 3 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 4 turnovers, 1 foul, on 22 points with a -35, they lost by 39 to lose the finals. - 2009 NBA Finals Game 3 (Loss by 4) - 40 minutes, 11/25 44% shooting, 4/9 from 3, 52% eFG, 5/10 at the line, 31 points, 3 boards, 8 assists, 4 turnovers, 5 fouls, -3 plus/minus, 112 offensive rating and 131 defensive rating. - 2010 NBA Finals Game 2 (Loss by 9) - 34 minutes, 8/20 40%, 2/7 28.6%, 45% eFG, 21 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls, -9 plus/minus, 89 offensive rating and defensive rating. - 2010 NBA Finals Game 4 (Loss by 7) - 43 minutes, 10/22 45.5% shooting, 6/11 54.5% from 3, 59.1% eFG, 33 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 7 turnovers, 5 fouls, -8 plus/minus, 105 offensive rating and 109 defensive rating. - 2010 NBA Finals Game 5 (Loss by 6) - 44 minutes, 13/27 48.1%, 4/10 from 3, 55.6% eFG, 38 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers, 5 fouls, -6 plus/minus, 125 offensive rating and 112 defensive rating. - 2010 NBA Finals Game 7 (Won by 4) - where the Lakers were saved by the refs and Kobe almost cost them a title.
