new 870's can't possibly be worse than my early 2000's 870 Express can they?!?

I would trust a Mossberg over a newer express model or a new Rem Arms fieldmaster. Newer expess models have well a deserved reputation for poor quality. The fieldmaster was a little better in some ways, but not enough. I would not get an 870 unless it was an old one. Also, Rem Arms won't even fix older 870s , even though it is the same design. So if your old one does break, you will be on your own. This is why I would stick with Mossberg.

It appears their Field Master IS better than this 870 Express so atleast they have that going for them?
