In this video, I am giving you my full review of the Remington F5-5800 Electric Shaver/Foil Shaver. This beard trimmer and foil shaver is part of the Remington Power Series and features Intercept Shaving Technology to cut and trim long beard hairs for a close shave.
The Remington F5-5800 Foil Shaver touts its Pivot and Flex foil shaver head which adjusts the shaver head angle for added comfort. It also comes with Dual Flexing Foils that contour to your face for a more enjoyable shave. Additionally, the Remington F5-5800 includes sharp and long-lasting stainless steel blades, as well as a pop-up trimmer for detailing sideburns and any other facial hair style. Furthermore, the Remington F5-5800 Electric Shaver is washable and can easily be cleaned under the faucet after brushing with the included brush.
As far as power goes, the Remington F5-5800 has a Quick Charge feature, where you can get enough power for one full shave in just 5 minutes of charging. An LED fuel gage on the front of the F5-5800 displays your remaining battery power and charge status. It also can be used corded or cordless.
For those of you that are trimming your beard on a budget, this beard trimmer is currently sitting at an amazingly low price on Amazon for only $19.16. Just a few days earlier, this same Remington F5-5800 foil shaver was selling at over $40. At this price point, this is a foil shaver that can’t be passed up. Most electric shavers and foil shavers out there, such as Braun, Panasonic, etc. have pricing into the $100 and $200 dollar range, which for most people is a ton of money for a shaving device. At current pricing, it doesn’t hurt the budget to at least test out the Remington F5-5800 and see what you think.
Most people have never tried a foil shaver before, and now is your chance without blowing the budget.
After using this product and seeing what it can do on long beard hair (2 wks worth of growth), I highly recommend this product at its current pricing. The Remington F5-5800 gave me a very smooth and clean shave, which I did not think would be the case, considering my disappointment with my previous review of the Remington PG6025.
Overall, watch the video above, then head on over to Amazon before this deal is gone. Honestly, I can’t imagine it will be there long, but hopefully it is. If not, just keep on the lookout on the off peak days in the middle of the week, when pricing could likely come down.

When I first went on and purchased the Remington F5-5800, it was a Sunday and was listed for $40+. When I checked back in a few days later on a Wednesday, it was down to $19.16. At this very moment, it's priced at $38.49. I definitely think you just need to keep an eye on the item and the price will come down again. When it does, make sure you jump on it. I wish I watched your review before I bought F5-5800 early this year from Amazon. It is so loud and shaves much worse than my 15 year old Panasonic ES-RW30. I could not return the F5-5800 on time. So now I am shopping for a new shaver. Just watched your video on Panasonic Arc5 vs Braun Series 9, and will buy Panasonic though I could buy Braun 9 from Costco (which you can return any time, even after a few years if it fails). My old ES-RW30 still works (never replace blade and foil in past 15 years). Hope the new Arc 5 will do the same😀

Hi, Yehuda. At the price of $19.16 that this item was selling on Amazon at the time, this was a deal that you couldn't pass up. However, since that time, the price has gone back up to around $40. At this price point, an all-in-one trimmer like the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 (review seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3fRYYafZqegr8U ) is a much better option, which will only run you roughly $10 more (amzn.to/2EMSKW5). That said, if you don't have a beard you are trying to maintain or need a bag of attachments and are just planning on using this as an everyday stubble shaver, this is still a good fit. Many foil shavers will run you into the hundreds of dollars for comparable results, so in that sense, this is very affordable. It left a very smooth shave on my face after multiple passes. Besides some battery issues with the unit, my only other gripe is that it's a bit clunky. Working with my goatee it was a little difficult getting into tight spaces. But if you don't have longer facial hair to contend with, this is a product you might want to try out. Again, hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

You're welcome! As you've only ever owned a circular rotary model shaver, I think it's good to step outside your comfort zone and try a different type of grooming product. Whether it's this Remington F5-5800 or something like a Philips Norelco Multigroom or even a Gillette razor, it's good to take your time and find a product that peaks your interest and that you can get at a reasonable price. As I mention in the video, this product was listed on Amazon at under $20 and is now hovering around $38. I would keep watching and see if the price comes down, but for a foil shaver, it's still in a descent price range to test out. It will always come down to ones personal preference of what they prefer in their grooming routine, but trying and testing will help you determine if this is a long term product for you. You are welcome! To your question, I definitely think that there will be a clear improvement in the quality of the shave from using a razor blade, but razor burn can still present itself. Depending on whether you have overly sensitivity skin will play a big factor. Also, the way the product is used will affect the chances of razor burn. For example, if you have to pass over stubborn areas multiple times and press in with added force, this could entice irritation. In the video, I pull my skin tight under neck and jaw line and go over it several times where the hair can be difficult to cut. This area for some people, can cause irritation, while for others nothing affects them. That said, I feel your question is very personal to the individual. Something you may want to look into are pre-shave and post-shave lotions for use with electric shavers that add another line of defense against razor burn. Overall, if you've never used a foil shaver, I definitely recommend testing one out. For the relatively small cost, its worth it to see if you experience an increase in the quality, comfort, and feel of your shave. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Remington kicked themselves so hard. They're old model had a slide up trimmer, which was faaaaar superior than the junky folding one. I personally think the trimmer thing between the foil shavers is stupid too.
