Proud owner of this rifle since February. Shopped from Dan's Airguns of course. In reality it looks like a Steam-Punk futuristic sniper gun. My scope has a fine (tiny) reticle. And the focus adjustment is good (it's at the back). Maybe something's changed? Superdomes are nice, but RWS Superfield 5.52 are monsters with this rifle. The silencer - I've improved some things. Months later I still take a sharp intake of breath seeing the damn thing. Great rifle. Probably going to be a classic.

I've been looking for a decent budget rifle for ages & now I think I've found it. It was the sound of it being shot that did it for me. None of the usual twang & clang you get with some cheaper rifles just a lovely thonk. Sounded like a Rolls door being closed. Now I just have to decide which calibre to go for, hmmm

Hi Paul! Hahaha I like that analogy I might have to steal that one! You can definitely hear the difference between the Sabre and the Express, the Express is a lovely rifle but they can be twangy out of the box.. the Sabre on the other hand just gives you that lovely "thonk" as you described. Regarding calibres the .22 will shoot smoother but the .177 will have far less drop beyond 30 yards. Cheers Paul.

I would be tempted to add some DPM adhesive fabric tape around the fixed plastic moderator to hide the plasticky look, aid with grip/comfort and possibly make it quieter. Shame the barrel isn't threaded 1/2 UNF but considering the price point of the rifle and that it has such a nicely sculpted thumbhole stock, the fixed moderator is forgiveable.

Hi Hendrick! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the late reply, for some reason a lot of comments aren't showing up for us at the moment even though we're getting them in our "notifications" tab. The lock up on the Sabres are the same as the Expresses with the rifle use a ball bearing detente. The thumb up shooting position is definitely achievable with the Sabre as there's ample room on the stock leading up to the action to rest your thumb. As far as I'm aware there have been no news regarding a carbine Sabre but I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. We'll get the Warhawk review done as soon as we can! At the moment we're doing the cheaper end rifles at the sub £200 or maybe even £100 mark but as soon as that's over we'll get it looked into. Thanks Hendrick and all the best.

@@bigdansairguns83 Hi Dan, I did a bit of research, realising Pellpax may be having difficulty. What I found was quite the opposite, but as a consequence of the investigative work I managed to get hold of MD. Darren Kirk's email address. I wrote an email and the comprehensive reply I got was sad reading. It's the PayPal money hold scam, which PayPal are holding over businesses to mitigate their risk for non-delivery due to companies going under during the Covid crisis. PayPal have frozen over £108K of customer receipts in his PayPal account. Meaning, though Pellpax acknowledged receipt of my order, Funds, namely my money was never transferred to Pellpax. This has severely damaged Pellpax reputation and left many customers like me waiting for refunds we are not owed by the sellers, but by PayPal themselves, who have had my money since 13th feb 2020. if you are using PayPal, I suggest you cease. Darren has petitioned his MP to take the issue to the CAAS Luxembourg's financial regulator, where PayPal is registered in Europe. I've raised a case against Pellpax initially on my PayPal account, but now I know the details of this issue I have scornfully approached PayPal for being dishonest with customers raising complaints which are unjustifiably attributed to the symptom and not the cause. I have a fight to get my money back, since PayPal disgracefully, want PellPax to refund me with money they never received! There are plenty of KZbin videos about this recently and there was a case on ITV Central where the same happened to an 11 year old girl raising charity money of £55K for the NHS Covid appeal. After the media article PayPal released the funds. I have reordered from Sports Guns, but not the Milbro, but the Remington Sabre TH. 22 Cal, you reviewed.

The rifle is stripped and all parts cleaned with the new piston leather assembled and soaking in 3in1 oil for 12 hours as recommended before I reassemble it tomorrow. The 20 year old spring is absolute toast and the spring grease had turned to tar. The best I got out of it was 349 Ft/s and 4.18 ft/lb with 15.4 grain Marksman pellets as old as the gun. Hi Dan, my shooting ground has been using the lockdown to develop an air rifle range alongside the clay layout and watching your videos has grabbed my interest in enjoying this discipline. Couple of quick questions about getting in to it, Remington Express or Sabre? Or do they really just share internals? and what's all the chatter about tuning? You suggested that the Sabre was very tuneable to really elevate the performance but tune what? Don't laugh this really is the first time I have wandered into this alien territory! Keep up the good work. Great ambassador for the discipline.
@bigdansairguns834 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve. Thanks for the kind comments it really means a lot. Both the Sabre and the Express are very similar rifles with the action being near identical and with the triggers being the same Remington trigger. According to my suppliers however the Sabre does indeed have some extra magic going on internally and I can say out of experience the Sabre on average does not twang on the same level as the Express. Both are excellent rifles however and although the Express may not have the fantastic stock of the TH or Sporter Sabre it's still a lovely rifle to shoulder. Regarding tuning there are multiple different things that can be done to the Sabres/Express rifles to get the most out of them (although this also goes with many springers). The most basic quick tuneup is to de-grease the internals and cover them in a light coating of moly grease as the internals will likely be smothered in a tar like packing grease. If you'd like to go a step further you can also polish the piston which is good for the rifle's consistency and also improves the feeling of the rifle's shot cycle. Re-finishing the spring tips can also help if the rifle is a bit twangy as standard. If you want to go even further with tuning there are quite a few tuning companies that provide drop in kits such as Woodfield GCP and Tinbum. The trigger can also be fine tuned by gentle polishing the sears making it more crisp to operate. There's quite a lot that can be done with these rifles and upgraded parts are readily available for them. That being said I'd definitely test the rifle first as both the Sabre and the Express's are usually pretty sweet out of the box especially for budget oriented rifles! I hope this helps mate and if you ever need anything else never hesitate to get in touch!

Hi Richard! The Sabre is a lovely bit of kit mate, it shares the same action as the Express XP but they've made a few refinements and given it a fancy new stock. That being said if you don't like the thumbhole stock there's also a standard sporter version. Regarding the stock believe it or not this is actually one of the most boring ones I've ever had. The others usually have lovely almost stripey grain going straight through them they really are gorgeous. Definitely let me know how you get on with one mate if you pick one up.

Hi Dan great videos I was looking at the Express but now I've seen the sabre I prefer this. Would you recommend the 177 or 22 for pest control?

22 is harder hitting

Can I add a bipod to this rifle if so which one would you recommend? Cheers
@diskyworld5 жыл бұрын
Bipod? Mild recoil messes things up. It's a full power sniper springer. All about ranged 30+yard/40+Meter single shots. Use a cushion, sandbag or a pack of rice from the supermarket. Alternatively become six feet tall and fire standing-up with a keen eye. (this is a joke btw, but actally true ;))

Is this rifle suitable for rabbit hunting?
@bigdansairguns835 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua. The Sabre's are definitely capable of rabbit hunting, once run in they make 11+ft-lbs and they're definitely accurate enough. Thanks mate.

@@lukepitts5774 I'm sure we can think of something Luke. Lets get one of those Kral's in and see what we think of it first though.

Why don't you show the detail of the barrel locking and breech ? Also how about the underside of the rifle ? Show end of barrel and the underside of the trigger etc? So far you miss out a lot of data. ie. Pressure needed to break the barrel and pull barrel back.This is important for younger shooters and some women,do you not think? Be Blessed. PS.Pivot pin and fit of breech are also important as are the type of Barrel seals?

Bought one last week and tried the RWS superdomes. It was all over the place at first and I was a little upset about it, and mine needed bedding in with a few hundred pellets. Try different pellets if you can. A week on and it's shooting great. Friend who has springers and now uses Pcp's first comment was "bl***y h*ll!!!" at its power, physically jumped. Great rifle, but bed in and zero well for anything but a buck shot effect.

So beautiful rifle but I feel bad for you guys and the UK 12 foot pounds that's how much energy my pellets end up hitting my targets at 100 yards leaving the barrel at 40 foot pounds of energy in the states I live in ConnecticutI don't buy a springer that is less than 27 ft pounds of energy my Remington 725 VTR is about 31 ft pounds of energy and I make 25 caliber hose through frying pans very thick frying 🍳

Hi Darren. I'm sorry to hear your Remington is a bit rough, just out of interest if it won't group look down the breech end of the barrel and tell me if you can see any odd debris in the rifling, we had a couple like that and they wouldn't shoot for toffee. Thanks Darren and sorry to hear your rifle is a bit naff.

Not as crap as you think mate. The budget brands are seriously chasing down the high end makes these past few years.

That silencer though ! What a heinous crime sticking that horrendous looking piece of shit on an otherwise splendid looking rifle. Deal breaker for me sadly
