Ah yes. The final boss was a Fire Demon that feeds on Chao, and also mind controlled your partner in Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Rouge's stories. Yet it didn't in Shadow, Metal, Silver and Espio's story.

Well it would made sense on why Ifrit couldn't control Metal since he's a robot, Silver has like mind control ability that screws up your controls so maybe he can resist it, Shadow's edginess (jk lol) or his willpower is probably strong, and Espio's a ninja basically

Sonic and Tails were chasing who they thought was Eggman and Knuckles and Rouge were just looking for the Master Emerald. In their stories, they were the only ones in Chaotic Inferno, so it was 2v1, but the Ifrit turned it in its favor. Shadow, Metal, Silver and Espio, however, saw through Eggman Nega’s disguise and were aware of his plan, and Nega sent his own Metal Sonic to awaken the Ifrit, leading to a 2v2 scenario, which is why you fight Metal 3.0 instead of your partner.

@@rynobehnke8289 It's possible that Ifrit just beat Chaos. Also Chaos needs the Chaos Emeralds to be stronger. If Chaos didn't have them at the time (Edit: if he was in his Chaos 0 form, I mean), then Ifrit probably killed him with ease.

If I recall, the end of 06 had Solaris erased from existence. This would mean that Solaris technically never existed which would mean that Sonic 06 never technically happened. This is also why Sonic and Silver don't recognize each other in Silver's next appearance, Sonic Rivals.

What if... Chaos 0 vs. Ifrit?

Ifrit would destroy Chaos 0. Chaos 0 is weak since Sonic only needs 3 jumps to defeat him, and since he's made of water and smaller than Ifrit, Ifrit could evaporate Chaos, but if we're talking about Perfect Chaos, That's a whole different story. Perfect Chaos wins. Sonic defeated posessed Tails and Ifrit at the same time in his base form, while he needed Super Sonic to defeat Perfect Chaos in SA1 (I know he defeated Perfect Chaos in his base form in Generations), so we can assume that Perfect Chaos is stronger than Ifrit.
