The Mondo looks like having some round tapes under the skin, to muffle the reverb, making the sound drier, while the other one not
@AndyPanda92 жыл бұрын
He has about 8 dampers stuck under the head on the Mondo - that's why it sounds so dull and dry. You can tame the ring without killing the tone - that Mondo sounds way too dead.

I just bought a Remo 12" inch and I could play all Indian beats

Hate the ring noise. Removed it from my 12 inch remo. My 16 djembe is much better in all ways.

They Both sound awful compared to a real Djembe. i have a Mondo and it never gets played
@MysteryZenSide26 ай бұрын
they both sound VERY sterile- no dis-respect. ...you should try hardwood / goat skin-
@SenseofAwareness6 ай бұрын
I agree with you completely. "artificial skin" has no capacity to vibrate at all, and I found their sound to be completely artificial. I am extremely grateful to the goat skin djembes I have.

I agree the mondo might feel easier to play cuz you have all that room between the top of the head & the tuning ring&brackets I enjoy that design when playing but that other drums tone was much more crisp and defined dudes right that's gonna be nice & bright within a drum circle. Only prob is u better be able to play halfway decent cuz everyone's also gonna hear any mistakes as well.lol

thanks for the comparison. it might help tell the difference in drums if they were tuned similarly. how is the feel of the new head?
@SenseofAwareness5 жыл бұрын
I’ve returned the drum because of manufacturing defects. I also tried to re-fit the drum with a goatskin skin which I failed miserably hahaha

That Remo Mondo djembe seems to have muffling [little squares] on the head.

The Remo Mondo Djembe on this video has a head that make It sound "cheap" if it would have a Skyn Deep head the sound would be better.

Do u happen to know the difference between the multi mask drum you have in this video and the Leon mobley one with the same design?
@SenseofAwareness5 жыл бұрын
snowball2488 hey there - it’s the same drum. The only differences can appear in the type of skin. The drum body itself is a brilliant design, great product engineering. I was not happy with the drum I got because it had multiple m manufacturing defects...

Il joue du rythmes rock sur le djembe et c'est dommage ,il devrait apprendre les rythmes d'Afrique de l'ouest, C'est plus enrichissant rythmiquement parlant

Sounds like muddled garbage. Buy a real authentic djembe
@markpaycer69085 жыл бұрын
I would never buy a remo djembe. Remo have no projection.
@KruzerOak5 жыл бұрын
Possibly the reason for the lack of projection is the fact that it is a nuskin head. Not sure though.
@markpaycer69085 жыл бұрын
Oh yea. Plus the crappy wood. You can purchase a drum for the same price, maybe a little more than 200 and get a great sounding djembe. Thw remos ring too much.
@KruzerOak5 жыл бұрын
@@markpaycer6908 Not wood, but the sound does have that bleh overtone. I'm thinking about picking up a remo because I found a good deal and it sounded good in the shop. I can't argue with a 200$ discount.
@markpaycer69085 жыл бұрын
Go real wood. Mahoganey is a lower type of wood comparable to the dimba woods and lenke wood from Mali. I picked up a ebony weave djembe mahogany from Discount djembe for 170 and cant believe the sound. Trust me spend a little you wont regret it.. Remo are good drum heads not djembe skins.

Just ordered the Flareout! Hope the bass is as good as the Mondo series. Edit: Just got it 2 days ago. The bass is huge and the slap/tones sound incredible! I think it's better than the Mondo series Djembe.
