Very informative review. Thanks, I'm going to order one right now. One small point - the soundtrack was a bit distracting and sometimes obscured what you were saying. Your content is interesting and can hold the listener's attention without the constant underscoring. But hey ... that's just my take. :-) How do you like your Beretta "Storm"?

Amen. All that tactical Tommy crap you see on KZbin videos, that's fine for the range. The only thing that matters is that you have a reliable gun that you are comfortable with. The rest is just your mindset. none of that BS that these tacticool guys talk about on their KZbin videos means a damn thing. What kind of fancy expensive gun you have, or the color of your holster, or exactly which position you carry in, that's all bull crap. All that stuff is just personal preference. your mindset when you carry is the number one most important thing. Btw, I sometimes use a Sticky, which I guess is very similar to remora. It works just fine for me. Very comfortable

As long as the elastic band you're using isn't worn out or anything the Remora will work great. Again, try one and if you don't like it - return it! They're so cheap it's worth a shot.

My remora was broken in after about 2-3 days of continuous use. I practiced drawing and re-holstering with a safe (unloaded) weapon quite a bit. I never had any issues with the Remora coming loose on drawing.

A lot of good practical device. Never heard of these till recently and this answered a lot of concerns.
@Hunterseeker111 жыл бұрын
I don't - just the plain old original. It works great. If/when you must defend yourself re-holstering rapidly is your LOWEST priority. DRAWING quickly and neutralizing the threat is your first concern. Afterward, take your time to re-holster if needed. The threat may still be a threat after you shoot them. I was taught to not to re-holster until help arrives. When the cops show up do what they say - you'll be fine. They're going to treat everyone like a threat until they know what's going on.

I wrote my comment a second ago, but I have a question for you. I bought an Nc Star laser for the p22 and you don't know if the switch is on or not in the holster. Had to buy expensive batteries today. I suggest that if your looking for a laser sight, get one that has a rear button. Not a slide switch like the Nc Star. In general, in my opinion the Nc Star is a piece of junk.

I don't use the sweat guard and I haven't had any issues. I wear it daily in the Florida heat and I've been just fine. People are going to sweat, the best way to keep that from damaging the weapon is to clean it regularly.

I also use a Remora for my Nano and have an N82, however it's for my M&P9C. I ordered another Remora for each just the other day. The one for the Nano is the tuckable version and the one for the M&P is the OWB/IWB version. We'll see if they work as well in their roles as the regular one does - could be a win - win.
@MargueriteAtHome11 жыл бұрын
I did get both, but sent the Remora back. I got their 3-in-1. (Those folks are WONDERFUL to work with!) The two holsters are nearly identical, but the Sticky is much smoother (still stays put); the Remora actually scratched my skin. So the Sticky is my holster-of-choice for both my S&W BG and my Ruger LCR 38 +P.

This was a great video except for one thing , You used this holster to carry AIWB " HIGH AND PRINTING WHICH WOULD ENDANGER THE CWC " This video is spot on except that , I use this holster or the one perhaps one size bigger but with a half sweat guard , And I tuck my carry to ride on the belt line making it almost impossible to see due to insignificant , That makes it a deep concealment double stack Compact Duty 9mm Carry with a match grade +P Approved barrel This combination is one of the best Carry Combinations in Existence . JAH BLESS ...

So I am looking for something that will work with sweat pants or yoga type pants while hiking or jogging. I don't want my pants weighed down and falling off, I don't want my gun flopping around with activity. I have a belt clip but it doesn't work well without a belt, oddly enough.. shoulder holster are not comfortable for this busty woman, and the flashbang style has to be designed by a man who does not need a support bra... anywho.. do you think remora would stay put in an elastic band pant?

Love the storm. It's a great soft shooting pistol with excellent ergonomics. Beretta has been making weapons for over 500 years - they know what they're doing. That's not to say it's the only pistol I like or that it's superior to all other firearms, it's just a great weapon and it serves my needs exceptionally well.

How does this compare with the Sticky Holster?
@Hunterseeker111 жыл бұрын
I went with the compact, yes. The sub seemed too small for what I wanted and the full-size would have been tough to carry concealed. The compact was a perfect compromise.

Public restrooms can be tricky (I'm assuming you are referring to urinals) but without going into too much detail you can simply slip the remora in between your body and the waistband of your boxers or boxer briefs etc. I generally don't have any issues with that method. Alternatively, you can always just use a stall if you're concerned about brandishing.

Do you carry a full size hand gun with a Remora? I saw someone do a KZbin on car-carrying with a Remora between the seat and center console. Have you tried that too? Lastly, how do you use public restrooms since there is no clip?

Does the Remora have to be against the skin to stay in place? Is it still an effective holster if you wear it on top of a t-shirt but under an over shirt? Hard to conceptualize how it doesn't just slide down the leg of your pants unless you've got your belt uncomfortably tight. I'm definitely intrigued and going to look more into this as an option. Thanks for the video.
@inspirationalquotes434110 жыл бұрын
No it does not need to be against the skin - very sticky on most fabrics.

@navyvet059 жыл бұрын
u dont need ur belt to be super tight to hold it. its designed to stick to fabric. just wear ur belt how u normally do. the holster wont go anywhere. for $30 if u dont like it then its not a big deal but i know u will like it
@Twisted869 жыл бұрын
R Dizzle83 Yeah I bought one from them and I'm calling bullshit. While I agree the fabric does cling a bit to my clothing it's not very secure till I use a belt. With that said I do like it, I bought a tuck (for formal) and a basic for all day carry and it's comfy. I don't however trust this thing to keep without the belt as it tends to "wiggle down" with a full magazine from my SD9VE.

Will you be doing more gear reviews? I've enjoyed the first two. Informative and simple with a bit of personality. Also have you you tried n82tactical iwb holsters? I have a Remora for my Nano but I use the N82 for my PXStorm. I'm probably going to go with them for my IWB holsters from now on. Like you said, personal preference and consistency are key, but you should try them out to see if they work for you. Anywho, I've subbed and I hope you keep up the good work!

Just by chance I bought the remora at the gun show. I use it with a walther p22 which is a rather heavy pistol for a .22. The space in between your belly and hip fits it perfectly. I'm a bit skinny, but it dosen't show through a hanging T-shirt. Very comfortable. This quick draw McGraw stuff isn't reality. If your opponent already has his gun in hand, it dosen't matter what holster you have. Just surrender.
@CharlieJulietSierra10 жыл бұрын
I have 2 Remoras and I like them. But, I only use them for a backup. You need a clip of some sort for a truly secure holster. These are great for what they are, but a primary holster for me would be a Crossbreed or Garret industries.

@edlaw6911 жыл бұрын
Good video, and love the concept. I have never owned this brand but is something that seems to be right for my type of carry. The question is: besides the pressure of pushing it into your body and an adhering factor to the flesh, what makes the rig stay in the right spot or keep it from slipping through? I would appreciate the feedback, and keep up the good work! Thanks.

It should work great for you. A few of the instructors at Aegis Tactical (google them) are that size and they hip carry with Remoras all day every day.

I too think the Remora is great as a IWB or a Pocket carry holster. I don't like them for full size handguns, but for compacts and smaller they work great. They do exactly as advertised: Inexpensive, quick, comfortable and easy to use.

The only things holding it in place are the 'stick factor' of the material itself and the pressure of your clothing holding it to your skin. Strangely enough, that's all you really need for it to stay in place. It's tough to explain but it just... sticks.

So far, I'm pleased. I need fort those few times I need to tuck a pistol in my waistband. I wrote the following in an email to Remora: "My #10ART arrived yesterday and it's exactly as advertised. I despise inside-the-waist carry - I normally use a fanny pack or a Serpa paddle holster - but the Remora makes IWB mode almost bearable."

The Remora holsters work great. I have three of them....one each for my 2 Glocks and one for my Shield. They stay in place and they are so simple to use. I cannot believe some of the other holsters people use that look like a fucking horse saddle tucked in their pants.

My remora was just a bit loose. So I took a piece of dental floss and cinched up about a half inch of rubber, plastic, what ever it is. And now it fits snug. No accidental fall outs at walmart. This snug factor is good and bad. There's no "quick draw" with this holster.

I do not know why but I have at my freinds farm (at his range) had the Ramora holster to come out when I drew my gun. So I have sewed a piece of seat belt so that my waist belt holds the holster from going farther in my pants when I re-holster the gun or coming out when I draw.

These are good for storage and pocket carry. That's about it. This is the most unsecure way to carry IWB with the exception of just throwing it in your waistband. Tagua is the typical gun shop trash that is appealing to new buyers because they don't know any better and the gun shop owner gets to make another $30. At that, you're already about half way to an incog so you may as well just spend the extra and get quality.
