If you keep the computer on, or the radio on, it may cause the battery drain too, because this could be the reason the battery discharge, I don't think it makes a difference if you install it to positive or negative. Weird I wired it up the same way and for some reason my car light will still stay on even after pressing off but you can hear the solenoid click
