Very helpful but after replacing the battery with one from local hardware store nothing worked.I had forgotten the dealer had given me a spare when car was in, apparently it is their policy, and fob worked immediately.What could be the difference between Audi and local shop purchase? You learn something every day.😁

Nothing, it’s likely a dodgy key. Make sure the battery is Duracell and you should know you haven’t got a battery issue then.

My dad had the same thing. It took some time to figure out that the message came from the second key. So you might want to change that battery too

Are there country specific differences? Mine won't move despite how hard you pull it, tried to push it with the physical key but the plastic is starting to crumble Edit: once I pulled hard enough the battery came out but the battery housing came out in parts. If this happens to anyone else the springs on the release buttons go between the spokes, not on them.

He didn't say that after the battery is changed, the car doesn't recognize the key. You have to recode it at the dealer...

I have had to change the battery more often, since they only last a year, never had to have it recoded.

He tries to insert battery into body wrong way, then slyly corrects himself! Putting the battery holder in upside down and the battery holder will be stuck and cannot not be removed without damage! Please repost with correct orientation for battery holder to go into the body of the key.

It’s not that easy, I had to use a chisel and a two pound hammer to get mine out!

@@Siemi1 nope, changed the batteries round with the old one again, tried my spare key (which I had to get off my parents) with the new battery and was fine. Turns out I had to hold it against the steering column. Least I got it sorted haha!
