The ham radio solutions USB paddle interface (for v-band) presents as a keyboard where paddle operations show up as left and right ctrl keys. You could plug in a foot pedal (1/4" mono to 3.5mm stereo, leave ring disconnected) if you can map ctrl to PTT.

The frustration to me with the SCU10 is that I have to choose between remote capability and digital modes. If I am operating from my station, I shouldn't have to completely disconnect the SCU10 in order to work digital then, when I am done, have to reconnect the remote unit.

I have an FTdx-101MP with all the filters and an M1 microphone and honestly, the lack of ability to do digital modes without having to swap a bunch of cables was the entire reason I didn't buy it. Hopefully they will come out with a newer, better version that will allow that.

Hi I would like to know where I can find the cables needed to run the FT-710 with the SCU-LAN10. I have my FTDX10 running with the SCU-LAN10 but the connectors are different on the FT-710

Perhaps add a USB port to the unit for a soundcard for legacy units?

You still end up with the delay of the internet lag time unless you go into a host server with both sides first same way the gaming consoles do it

Would love to tinker with this stuff. See what I can make it do. Looking at getting a truck and doing emcomm trailer and then at home could operate the rigs from PC or in the shack. And could always have a PC in the rack to access more complex modes remotely

COMPLETELY AGREE!!! I have the FTDX101D, Icom 7300 and 9100 and a Flex 6300. It is SO EASY to remote the Icoms and Flex INCLUDING CW! Oscaro is spot on. You can hide your head in the sand Yaesu, but you do need to step up your game! I have been a Yaesu fan for ever, but it is hard to ignore what Icom and Flex can do. Thankfully the FTDX101D has a better receiver, otherwise it would be gone.

Interestingly I heard some KZbinr comment that the stock exchange was looking to gather HF bandwidth because it was faster than the internet and if they could communicate a cell or buy a half second faster than somebody else could it could mean hundreds of thousands or millions that being the case perhaps this is always going to be like those first IP phones that always had a terrible delay that wrecked a conversation
@roberth543512 күн бұрын
Not to worry. Commercial operators are not looking to invade amateur HF bandwidth. The most agressive Wall Street traders have sought to establish microwave networks, point-to-point radio not having as much latency as fiber networks. These are the same companies that argue with the NYSE over the length of CAT6 cables in the data center in Brooklyn.

This guy has got to be the worst product rep ever. He came off as angry when people were speculating about a new upcoming Yaesu mobile, and here he seems defensive and full of excuses. Beyond that, it’s clear that Yaesu has missed the mark on remote capabilities, is scrambling to play catch up, and isn’t doing a good job of it. It’s hard to watch.
@mikes68442 жыл бұрын
Windows, Windows, Windows!!! Where’s MacOS interfaces. Are you telling me this is beyond Yaesu capability? Seems that way. Step 1 yes radio is the first priority, Step 2 make sure you have the interfaces. Step 3 make sure it talks to Window, Mac and Linux. 😕😕😕 not a great advert for buying Yaesu. One excuse after another - yes I have a 101 and 10 and a Mac. The way forward for me is to consider SDR, Elecraft or ICOM. It’s 2022 for goodness sake - lever some development funds or let a 3rd party do it.

You only need a Mac computer to edit videos very quickly about how to edit videos quickly. No games, no CADs. Just bloggers and videos about them. 🤷♂

the 101 and ftdx10 look amazing but the ftm200 ftm 6000 look like junk sorry. Terrible tiny screens and buttons that look like 1980s radios. Having to purchase the lan thing sucks too. Icom doesnt need that to run remote why does Yaesu make me buy another product to do this? I have the ftdx 10 and love it. Unfortunately its very buggy and lots of fixes are needed. Just join the groups io to see all the problems. But lucky me so far no issues.
