REMOTE Mountain River LOADED with Mallards in the SNOW!!!

As duck hunters we all have that one experience that during the off season we think about more often than we admit. It might not mean much to someone who has never experienced it but for those who have sat under the whistling wings of mallards landing in the decoys you will come back to that memory all year. This was one of those hunts. Every mallard did it so perfect that it was hard to believe. We went after an adventure and an adventure we found. Thank you for joining us!

My kids are usually my retriever :-) In all honesty, and I've said it a few times on past videos, but our work overseas makes it tough to do a good dog justice. I just don't think it would be fair to the dog. So we choose to hunt in areas that a dog isn't needed. Would I love to have a retriever on hunts like these? Absolutely. As a guide and outfitter I had great dogs and they make a hunt so much more enjoyable.

@ I understand. I have now my 4th black lab retriever and as I say, “I shoot the ducks for the dog”. I’ve been spoiled as they have all been professionally trained. I’m 77 & couldn’t hunt w/o one now. I hunt at a private duck club in northern UT, mainly in the marsh (fields after it freezes). I have hunted 31 days this season & hope to get 50 in. Keep up your GREAT shows! Love every minute.

We had all our ducks but we were just going to wait for the geese to return. It's all good though. Just a bummer that some think it's ok to set up on someone else that close.

This "only shoot drakes" thing is so ridiculous. ALL of us need to get over it, there is NO IMPACT on duck populations from us shooting hens and in many areas, it will skew the population balance.

You shot 2 limits and you are COMPLAINING??? Seriously?? Can they even see you down below the river bank? If it is there property, that is probably the only spot they have, some people just cannot be happy.

Certainly not complaining about the hunting, just the lack of courtesy from other hunters. They have LOTS of options where they can hunt and all of the spots would've been good. It's not that we were worried that they were going to shoot "our" birds, it's the fact that they knew we were there and yet still sat right on top of us.
