For anyone having issues using the PSN Login option, try to opening the login link in a separate browser like firefox and it should work! I was getting some issues as well but when I used Firefox I was able to login and get the redirect link appropriately.

In case anyone is wondering why they only see one connection in chiaki it’s because it was updated. The one connection will automatically switch to remote psn when you’re not on your home network. You don’t have to do anything different. You can test it by hopping on and off your mobile hot spot and watch it switch back and forth. Also, check the box for auto-connect under the “console” tab if you only have 1 system. Your ps5 will auto boot when you open chiaki.

Helpful video! Some discrepancies / issues I ran into though that might be helpful for others: 1. It's no longer called Chiaki4Deck when searching on the Discovery store. It shows up as Chiaki-ng. 2. Couldn't connect to server when logging into PSN. Solution: Had to go to privacy settings on my PS5 and make my profile searchable by "anyone", then select "public lookup" back on Chiaki and type in my PSN username. This applied the funky username characters to the main screen and I was good to go. 3. The default controls via Steam (once you add as a non-Steam game) are missing the PS5 home button, so I couldn't leave the game I was in or shut off the console remotely. I searched for and applied a trusted Chiaki community layout that gave me all the buttons I needed.

Thanks so much! The latest version was slightly different (called 'Chiaki-ng), and I had to connect a mouse to properly copy and paste the link (using the touch screen kept copying and pasting the wrong string). Otherwise everything was as you described. I cannot believe how responsive my Deck is! This feels like sweet vindication for the horrible performance my old Vita + PS3 Remote Play experience was back in the day. The only downside to all of this is now I want/need an OLED Steam Deck :D

Tried this out with my PS4 and it worked! I tested if the remote worked by just hopping on my phone as a hotspot. Some tips: two consoles don't show up for me at once. Also it gives you two options to get you PSN account ID. I used the public lookup at first cause I was lazy and didnt want to log into my PS4 account. I found when I did this however the remote console never showed up. I deleted the device and tried again this time getting the account ID from the PSN network and that one ended up working. So I suggest just completely following this video and test out the remote via hotspot.

If you're using firefox and get the error when you try to sign in to PSN, go to settings>privacy and security>cookies and site data, then clear information for the site under the manage data button. That worked for me.

Still works Dec 17, 2024 People who have issues this is why: The reason is because when you set it up you didn't use the external browser, you signed in within the app so you never got the re direct link that needs to be pasted into the URL. Everyone who is having issues this is why.

Solution if the second connection doesn't show up: Go on your Playstation to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy. Select View and Customise Your Privacy Settings. Then change the first one to "anyone". Thats all. After that the second connection showed up for me

Already had my ps5 registered so it wasn’t working.. followed your response on another similar problem of trying to unregister/disconnect old account and try connecting again and it worked! Although on my end it only has 1 option for connections and not 2. Tried it with my hotspot and was happy with how it was playing! Thanks for the vid with easy instructions 👍🏼

I solved the PSN problem by sending the link to my Messenger account, logged into PC and the finished link sent again to messenger and copied to chiaki. I got the same when I tried on my steam deck lcd. I got around it by using the public lookup button, made sure my account was discoverable by anyone who searches for it (under privacy settings for your account) then entered my PSN ID. It was able to pull what it needed and worked fine. Good luck!

I would unregister/delete your current ps5 and then do the steps in this video. Thats the easiest route I think. Make sure you have the latest version of Chiaki-Ng

PlayStation key is by pressing the Steam button and the left on the dpad at the same time! For the touchpad press you have to map one of the buttons to the letter T I believe. If you're on Verizon, the automatic set up doesn't work. When entering your credentials for the PSN, it gives a connection error. I had to do the manual set up through the website for Chiaki-ng documention the uploader put in the video info. At the top, click Setup, and on the left click Remote Connection. Scroll down a bit, and there's instructions for the manual set up. Worked flawlessly for me. Edit: Got it working after some further troubleshooting! Had to use Google Chrome signed in on my Desktop PC and SteamDeck to share History. Was able to sign-in on the browser on my PC, and then retrieve the token page from the History on my SteamDeck. (Chiaki-ng version 1.8.1. Tried to reply several times, but KZbin is being KZbin and not posting it I guess.)

I don't have a tag at the top to refresh PSN Hosts. I wonder if that only appears when you've successfully signed into the PSN though? I'd love to have it work innately though. I don't like having the port forwarding on it.

Since I was getting the Connection Error on the SteamDeck, I used Chrome to sign in to both the Browser on my Desktop and on the SteamDeck. I was able to share the history that way, so I signed in for the Token on my Desktop, then pulled up the History on my SteamDeck to retrieve the Token. Used the HotSpot on my phone to confirm it's working on other networks now... hey man i cant seem to find anywhere my issue but ive already went ahead and got chiaki to stream my ps5 and everything but my current problem is that some inputs dont get picked up at times, for example i was playing jedi survivor and i have to spam X like 7 times to get the input to register, i know the stream is flawless because its a local stream and my joysticks work no problem just the rest of the inputs

That is strange...hmm you could try changing the controller layout/configuration on the steam deck. If you check there should be a community created controller layout specifically for chiaki. That might help
