For my 2015 Honda CR-V I wasn't able to get it to start using this method because it took too long. Instead, I started the car, put it in reverse, turned the car off and took my foot off the brake. Then I hit the start button rapidly to turn it on and off 5 times (car didn't go into reverse since it was off). I then hit the lock button on the remote and it programmed on the first try. When you are in reverse and turn the car off you only have to hit the start button once to get it to turn on so you can get the 5 in very quickly. Hope this helps others that are having the same issue programming the remote for their push to start cars!

I will try this method. My compustar remote stopped working after replacing battery. My Acura does same thing. It takes too long.

I try this. Now my old key and new key both dead. Pay 250$ to have locksmith reprogram both keys. Actually cost me 500$

Awesome, thank you for this. I imagine the dislikes are from remote car starter installers hahaha. I live in Canada and work in a fly in fly out industry so my car is parked for months at a time so I'm always having to unhook the battery. I haven't had a functioning car starter in like 6 years. It sucks in winter. Thank you so much! Gonna go try it now.

I just brought a new key fob to replace the broken one and the dealer did it for free since I was under warranty.

hi I have 2009 Nissan Cube base push start. I tried to do like you said but I did not hear a click. I have no idea what step is wrong. After those tried, my car can't lock the doors by pushing a button at the handle like before anymore. in the video you said press start button 5 times, I count you pressed total 15. So exactly how many total?

Ive done many compustars, 2 complaints.. 1. Is it really necessary to cycle the key 5 times? That's 15 presses for pts vehicles... 15!... can it not be reduced to 2 or 3 cycles? 2. There's times where remotes won't program when i hit lock... i end up getting the 2 clicks which lets me know it times out... i get frustrated, then i end up reflashing the brain in hopes of it pairing remotes.. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... there's times where i press on the button on the antenna in hopes of it programming the remotes and it does... but never on the manual about that... nor anything about that button on the antenna.. till this day i have no clue what that button does...
