Thank you. It’s the general approach. If you know the window manufacturer, try their support website for specific instructions, including swing out to clean outside glass from the inside.

I have to do this and I’m dreading it because the window is so heavy. But this really helps because I wasn’t quite sure how to do it. Thanks!

You are welcome. I don't know if the newer American Craftsman windows lift out of the shoes like the Wyvinco one. If you can't get the shoes to slide while removing the sash, dampen a cloth with some silicone spray and wipe it on the tracks. I have a video that shows how to get vinyl windows moving easily again. The problem I have with the new replacement sash is that one of the keepers doesn't line up with the lock. Of course the holes in the bottom sash are too close to the new holes I'd have to drill to make it line up. I think I may be able to fill the old holes with epoxy and drill new holes. I'm not going to do it until I get advice from Plygem (they bought the American Craftsman brand from Anderson). If I wreck my bottom sash without advice from them, it's going be my fault and I'll be paying for a new bottom sash. Just when I think I got something off my to do list, there is a new problem. lol. Hi Know How now, about screens: our house had new window screens put on by the previous owner. I've never seen these types before. Can you tell me what the two little levers are for? There is one on each side down at the bottom corners. How are they supposed to be moved? Thank you.
