The two lower bolts on my 2015 ultra worked loose, and was loosing Tran. oil. I could not get the second one off without removing the Headers. This was so darn helpful, made it easier to do the job. Thanks for all you guys do.

Hello Ryan, I gotta say man, several years ago I had a 14 Street glide and I saw your channel and immediately subscribed and all that I now know and all that I needed to know were from watching your channel. I lost that Bike to a fire (no one was hurt) but I chased bikes from imports to rockets and nothing brought me as much joy as that glide did. To get to the point I have been blessed to be able to recently purchase a 2019 Road King and immediately have returned to your channel. Thanks for all the time you put into these vids for guys like me (novice) and pros alike. Ride safe and God Bless.

Ryan, think about using short sections of allthread of the appropriate thread size to create a stud onto which you hang the gasket and then the cover. The back the allthread out.

Or just poke a few bolts onto the cover spread around, and hang the gasket on the bolts so it doesn’t fall, cause you know, gravity. Hold onto it and the cover and place it onto the trans… either way, either way is fine

Great video! My side cover was changed when I did my engine upgrade but didn’t change the transmission top cover. Can I replace the top cover without taking the damn exhaust off?
@patrickrobinson-mh5jw4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it is a pain with little room to work just take your time and it will work
@jbucks1662 жыл бұрын
I realize it's a year old. I just replaced the vent tube on mine. Yes it can be done without removing exhaust. Popping off the cover took a few short knocks screwdriver & hammer as demonstrated in video.

Ryan, on the top cover I see when you put the top cover on the bike you didn’t use loctite on the 6 bolts? I have a 2019 softail and I am wondering if I need to use blue loctite? Please advise

Ryan - working on my 2014 Ultra right now (yes, Easter Sunday), hoping to ride today. Lower bolt (the one with the trick of putting a screw driver underneath to stop it from spinning) is seized up. Sprayed lots of teflon lube and still cannot get it to turn without the top of the flathead screw from spinning. Any suggestions? I'm so frustrated...

I recently bought a used 07 street glide. it has the vance and hines dresser duals on it. for some reason it looks like they left the bolts out on the bracket under the transmission cover. seems like these would be pretty important. any ideas on why or if they are actually needed? thanks

Hello Ryan, I just wanted to pass on a great sealer/gasket maker product for you and your viewers, Called Hylomar Universal Blue Racing Formula compound. It is non Hardening Fuel and oil proof! This product is used in aviation Jet engines and can withstand extremely hot temperatures. I have used this product on sealing fuel tanks float sender mating surfaces and threaded holes in fuel tanks...still sealed air tight after 8 years of being exposed to fuel in my vintage sports cars. Also, it can be re used after pulling mating surfaces apart such as motorcycle engine covers, exhaust flanges and so on. It's a little pricey At $19 dollars..but well worth it since you can re use it after pulling mating surfaces apart. It can easily take the place of any original gasket or be applied as a thin film to a clean new or used gasket. This product can be special ordered at your local Napa car part store or online. Hope this helps!

Hey Ryan! huge fan and subscriber. Can you tell me at the 7:39 mark, what size and length those bracket bolts are? One of mine is missing and i havent been able to ride anywhere because I assume its causing a leak somewhere that is burning on my exhaust and smoking pretty heavily. Do those bracket bolts hold fluid in that would leak if one was missing?

I have a 2014 Street Glide. How do I know for sure if I have a hydraulic clutch or not?
@RyanUrlacher5 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic clutch will have a reservoir on the left side just like the brake reservoir on the right side. Cable clutch has no reservoir and will have an adjuster on the cable located at front of the motor (usually near the frame down tube). Ride safe & Ride Often! Why not put a rag under the side cover so you don't drip gear oil all over everything when removing it? Why spin the snap ring around? Why not merely squeeze it closed and remove it? "snap ring pliers" not "snap rings"
