When I clicked the color in the pic, it stayed black (was a dark purple). Did not work as flawless as yours but was able to click the black color on the left and change to a somewhat similar color

I tried to do the same on a psd file for a designed somebody made for me, because I wanted to see how could I change a word or even the entire text, but is asking me to rasterize it first... why? should I do it any way? can I go back to the previous word in case I don't like it?
