Nice, great video! I have a laser engraving business and have to make mockups all the time. Unfortunately, I lost my default settings and I can't get them back to looking good again. But it's nice to see how the pros do it. Question, is there an easy/quick way to have all the settings applied to a layer? I know I can convert each effect (shadow, overlay, etc.) one at a time to the default settings that I set, but is there a way to have the entire layer's settings applied at once? I imagine if this can be done, it's only saving those settings for a single layer, and doing this with different settings can't be done for two layers, but what do I know? I appreciate your time!

I used your tutorial today and it was a great help. I had to play around with the settings to get rid of the rounded/beveled edges. It was also tricky because I'm doing this on maple wood, which is very light colored. So I had to play around with the colors for each overlay a bit. I'm still not thrilled about the final results I've gotten. I could use a pro like you who knows what they're doing instead of just sliding the settings around until it looks closer to what I'm going for. So if you wanted to make a video doing this same thing on a light colored wood, I'd love that. I just wanted to mention something, in case you or anyone cares. A laser doesn't create beveled or curved edges, that is the look a router makes. The look created in this video is like a mix of laser engraved (because it's dark on the inside) and routed (because the edges are curved/beveled). Which is a nice look and may be the look a lot of people are going for, but it's not a true laser engraved look. A true laser engraved look would have edges like a cliff, going straight down. There's no curve or angle to it. I've used a laser engraver at least 5 days a week for nearly 10 years now so I've got some credibility. Anyway, just sharing this in case it matters to anyone. Thanks again for this video!

We are a couple of old Sr. Citizens that are working on a family project! We were hoping to take the pictures of our now existent adult children, and covert into sketch like drawings to then display sort of like in a time line way... so their children could see them at the different stages of their parents' lives... What is the simplest, safest and best end producing app/software to achieve our end result?

Nice. Alas, my pattern says it is added but it's not available when I try to add it. I see this is an issue with others too online. EDIT: It seems to get to the dialogue box to apply the pattern you must (as of Nov 2024 at least) go to Layers>Layer Style>Pattern Overlay. The path mentioned in the video doesn't work for me. This does.

Thank you for the video! It was really informative! I'm just wondering, can we use Canva for Social Media? For example taking one of their templates for Instagram/Facebook Posts, alter it a little bit and use it on my IG or FB business accounts (not selling, just posting on social media)?

Hi! I have a question: for each digital product I create, will I need to make a separate copy of the template PDF and customize it based on the new product? So, if I end up creating 10 products, does that mean I’ll have 10 different templates saved in my Google Drive? thank you :)

Can you explain to me how you export the layer names of an inkscape SVG? When I upload my file in Cricut designspace all layers automatically get the file name instead of the layer name. But in this video your layers are named after their function (cut)

This is exactly what I've been hoping to learn - I was wondering if there was a decent, laser cuttable sublimation acrylic. Nobody I asked seemed to know, but you have a similar machine to mine and are cutting it, so I think I have my answer! I'm wondering however - Would you maybe consider it to be safe cutting after sublimation? I'm working on control panels and worry about the edges around the holes marking weirdly from the gasses being released.

Etsy closed our shop 19 minutes after we paid the $19 fee to open the shop. Hadn’t even finished listing one item yet. I’m glad to find this out now rather than getting established and finding out later. Bye, Etsy.

After 5 months and hundreds of hours working on my store in which I sold 29 items about to about 10 customers. 5 star and days away from being a star seller. I go to pay my bill last night as soon as it was paid. A big red banner came up. You're suspended indefinitely. I have no clue why.All I sell is craft supplies so people can make their crafts. They said I'm high risk. I've never allowed to shop or sell on Etsy. Ever again and I've been shopping on Etsy since it started. Then they send me a message saying "We can't tell you why but you're high risk" hundreds of hours and it happened to be my birthday that they did this on. What a birthday present. I'm so sad all those hours gone, I will spend every last minute of every last day I have doing everything to convince people to not shop or sell on this sight until the website is no more, hundreds of hours gone and all the can say is ur high risk and not tell you why. PATHETIC

The email they sent me had the oh so helpful "your violations may include but are not limited to:" and listed basically all possible reasons any shop might ever get suspended. Not handmade, prohibited items policy, IP policy, or maybe some of my info is wrong or maybe there's outstanding cases or too many bad reviews or maybe associated with a previously banned account or may have an overdue bill or may not have met a regulation. AFAIK after scouring everything none of these are the case (I sell prints of my original art, no fan art, just original fine art, no cases, no bad reviews, no past due orders, etc) but my appeal was denied almost immediately. Still no word why. Apparently this happens a lot and 2-6 weeks later I may or may not randomly be unbanned without notice. This would be 95% less frustrating if they would point to a specific thing I'm supposed to have done. Happy to make any changes if I just knew what needed to be changed.
