@@polishautistic2137 early development origins had unity assets and gameplay, that is correct. Unity early gameplay actually had very different time anomalies as well, and syndicate early development also featured unity's early hud elements, and Jacob as the only playable protagonist. That's one the reasons why literally every single leak or bit of early development for syndicate that comes out, is Jacob.

I get this was probably removed because Evie was characterised as seeing the Rooks as a childish thing Jacob was doing but this cutscene makes her more involved in the idea however it really is golden, seeing Jacob butt heads with Henry and seeing Clara have a bit more screentime was nice too and really added to the humour. I wish these games weren't so rushed out, if Unity and Syndicate had better and longer developments I think they could've been real contenders for best games in the series.

For those interested, this cinimatic was fairly late into development, and was used in an early demo as well. Originally, Jacob was the only playable protagonist in the game, and evie didnt even exist as she is today. The game looked much darker and Jacob had the same outfit as George. I'd love to chat about it, as I know a lot about the game back in development, but if im slow to reply at all, I apologise as I'm fairly busy at the moment as well! As always, this channel has done great work!

@@dylanbyrne9597 the modern day is a tricky topic, as many wanted it in the game, but many didn't. I do know that the player "the initiate" from unity, was supposed to be able to "leave simulation to explore the white room" which probably means that the player could explore the animus while it wasn't creating a set historical simulation. Think Revelations Desmond sections, I'd assume it would've been similar. On top of this, however, Shaun has concept art with a slightly different outfit and weapons, which appear to suggest he was playable, as his concept art mirrors Jacob's conceot art. But that is purely speculation, while the white room exploration is a fact, we've seen that on leaked images.

Jacob had the same lead writer for his character and story, as Ezio did. The pair are probably the most similar characters to each other, beyond the fact that ezio is rich and a ladies man, while Jacob is working class, and not that bothered about women at all really.

Despite their similarities, Jacob did not at all know who Ezio was until near the end of the game In AC2 Ezio’s database entry says he drops out of history entirely after killing Ulberto, not sure if this is explained I haven’t finished the Ezio trilogy

Jacob was wrestling between being a ruthless gang leader and an honourable assassin, during a time where he needed to be a bit of both. He modernised the assassin brotherhood, and truely cared for the freedom of the people. Evie on the other hand was utterly bland and 2D. She didn't care about anyone but Henry, and she even broke the creed right away when she sees that Robert topping is about to be harmed by the blighters, and she just says "what a pity, but no diversions from the mission." Even when she did save him from the gangsters, she only did so because he had info she wanted, and she still left him to rescue himself from that place. She is a selfish person with no depth, and she didn't learn from anything in any of the storylines she is in. Us her acting was dull compared to Jacob. Jacob could be very serious when needed, such as when he took down John Elliottson or Roth. Pearl or Starrick, or even Jack himself. Jacob's acting in these levels is really good, while evie just sounds bored. Lydia didn't have much to go on, but she was instantly well acted, a presence on screen that was actually noticeable unlike evie, and lydia had a more fun personality that didn't sacrifice the serious tone of her story missions. She had a lack of depth, but she only had a few levels. Jack was utterly terrible and everything this "stealthy" character said was super loud and he did barely anything without being as loud as possible. Compare that to Jacob who was always doing black box missions and stealthy heists. Evie and Jack are budget Jacob and lydia.

Hey! I wanted to highlight a matter in regards to a company called "sweet baby" that personally upsets me on multiple levels, and I believe the fans should know the truth and hypocrisy behind ubisoft's worst character, evie. This is a lesser known situation that bothers me as a huge assassin's creed fan. Essentially, assassin's creed syndicate was largely finished before the inclusion of evie as a playable character. As in, the game only featured Jacob frye. Here's where things get hypocritical. The games lead writer is a gay man called Jeffery Yohalem, and he lead AC brotherhood, and worked on many other AC games as well. He had always written about various demographics, but this time with syndicate, Jacob frye was a bisexual man, similar to how Jeffery is a gay man. Now, you'd think that this was "inclusive" enough for Kim belair, who herself got a writing role on the project "late into development" by her own words. But spoiler, it wasn't enough for her and her buddies. You see, syndicate was right before Kim belair left to head her own company "sweet baby." It didn't matter that a man of a minority group wanted to write atleast one game about his own minority demographic. To Belair, anything white and male is "privileged" and therefore, she and others such as Melissa, were behind undermining Jacob as a character, shoehorning evie into the game as a "twin protagonist" despite that not being the original plan at all. Kim belair got what she wanted, but of course it wasn't enough, and so she then joined the "AC sisterhood" where she voiced that she felt annoyed that people were telling her the games main character is Jacob, and she said "we can change what people think, and if people think evie was supposed to be the main character, then she'll become the main character." This is highly hypocritical as she talks about inclusion, yet she fights to remove and undermine a minority group simply because they are white and male as well. We see this trend continue as all of the gay/bisexual male playable characters are now "none canon" or in Jacob's case, forced to share their game with evie as she is constantly pushed to replace him as a soul protagonist. But this is also interesting, as all the claims that literally every single female character was "the original intended protagonist" have no evidence to back them up at all, and it fits right into Kim belair's claim that telling people evie was planned would make her popular, and to some level she was right, unfortunately. It appears the same tactics have been used for Aya, Kassandra and Eivor as well. Eivor is even a unisex name, and yet these people have everyone thinking it is a woman's name only. Kim belair also went on to admit she worked on the home base and certain notes in the game AC valhalla. This is significant because the only times Kassandra and female were "canon" at the games launch were due to in game notes, and an obvious head swap of a hidden optional cinimatic where Odin as an old man was supposed to appear, but in the final game he has female eivor's head. (Yes I'm serious, crazy right?) I don't want game devs to feel they have to force into their storylines lgbtq men, women, or ethnic minorities or anything. That said, as a gay man myself, I feel frustrated that my minority group has been victim of real gatekeeping by the very group sweet baby and their associates, while they tell the world that they are fighting for diversity!? They are hypocritical and they lie. I think the truth about the hypocrisy that created the 2D terrible character that is evie frye, should be exposed. And I think that it's time games just went back to being just that. Games, that are made to be fun and none political. I hope you took the time to read this all, and if you did, I'm thankful. I've been bullied and abused, and I even have an online stalker who has been gaslighting me for around 3 years now! All because I said it was wrong to remove the only representation a minority group has, in favour of the ever growing list of female representation.

This cutscene shows to me maybe with another year syndicate could’ve been the best game in the series. One thing I felt lacking is how you build up the gang and takeout the leaders. I feel if the gang leaders maybe all had a small assasination mission, where one of you’re contacts help find the location of the enemy and you go deal with them instead of the brawls that were so easy. I feel if they done that and fleshed it out a bit people would appreciate syndicate more. Even with this storyline they could’ve done a darker tone as opposed to the main story idk missed opportunity

Sucks this game is 60FPS on PC but we can't get 60FPS on consoles... Cannot believe they gave Origins 60FPS on consoles and not this game. Wanted to play this again on my Xbox Series X a couple of months back but since I'm so used to 60FPS now I couldn't get back into this game because it was locked at 30FPS and it was very noticeable.

Yes, syndicate was codenamed victory. Jacob was originally the only playable protagonist for the game, but he had a different outfit which was later reused for a character called George, once Jacob got a new look (the one he currently has) because the team felt it fit his personality and situation better. Originally syndicate back when it was called victory, was a lot darker, and instead of evie, the game had a none playable older female assassin who was Jacob's mentor, similar to how AC2 had Mario mentor Ezio.
