Removing 30 year old privacy film from window

Did your tint leave behind any staining? I removed mine as well as the adhesive (it was attached in 1999) and it left behind HORRIBLE stains on the window. I’ve tried a few methods and nothing works. It’s very visible from the front of my home so it’s driving me nuts!

Oh no! It didn’t, ours was right in the sun too, I cleaned the window with goo gone and window cleaner

Ugh! Amanda I would hate to have to remove something like that. You and Jason did a great job exiling the film to the trash bin. I have no patience when it comes to trying to remove things like that film with the glue backing. I would more than likely end up breaking the window 🤣. There is a product, undo, it does something to the glue so you can take off stickers and stick them back, I know you dont want to stick back, and I also have used a steamer for the heat to take tape off the floor. you guys are working so hard

Yeah but this becomes hard its like the glue is gone bassicly. I got 2 brands the one seems as worse like this , the other i pull of with 1 finger. I have 3 Windows to clean and 1 hour made me remove 10 cm..... You can only delte it mm bye mm

If you know of anyone that has a heat tool, some call it a heat gun, try and borrow that. It gets hotter, faster giving you better results. I will say that with it being on that long though it could be hard to come off no matter.

Hey Amanda you are privacy film from the window today and you are going to use a blow dryer to get it off the window today and you are doing a fantastic job what you are working on today and keep up the good work what you working on today

OMG I used adhesive Spray remover, let it soak for about an hour and it all came off at once in seconds on 20 yr old privacy film from Ikea that wouldn’t budge.

Warning, warning. Too much heat with a heat gun will break your glass. That's what happened to me!! No one gave me a warning about this!!! SIMI Valley California

Mine breaks off 1 mm if i use a scrape it off....gonna try this since i have no idea how to get it off Thx if it works, youre my only hope for ficing this mess😂i really regret that 3 layers, the top 3 layers were different brand but my god its like stone stuck to a window I dont think there is even glue inbetween or something. Its compeltly hard Yours seems terrible 2 ,my god w...t ....f......they better write this down on paper when placing it!
