Removing and Installing basement windows in a 1948 house.

Our biggest purchase yet! In this episode we finally get all of the windows in the house replaced. While we paid for the main floor windows to be replaced, we decided to tackle the basement ourselves.

That looks great! My house was built in the early 30's and also has steel framed windows, I plan on replacing all of them this weekend

If you can fit a hopper window in there I believe you might have better air flow.

The newspaper may have come from work on the wall above to block air infitration. Why did you go with sliders? The hoppers open all the way to horizontal for 100% open.

Honestly, at the time, lack planning and local availability. We are still happy with the windows. The sliders come out giving us the access we need. Hoppers would possibly provide better ease access.

Great work on the windows. Just curious about that paint for the brick! Can it be sprayed, or is it brush and roll application only?

It recommended rolling or brushing for the best application but I believe you can spray it! It’s a pretty thick paint though
