Thanks for the info, i will give it a try and see. You see, im on the lookout for any form of cooling that may not be working properly. When i drive long distances at 80-100Km p/h than water would begin to spout out from around the cap of the water inlet. Under normal everyday city driving i never get this problem

Hey Andy could you record a video on engine cleaning in order to both bring it back to mint conditions and detect leaks please? I’m about to buy a delica turbo diesel 2.8 1996 and I wanna figure whether some replacements are needed. Cheers mate

Very nice video sir. I too drive one of these as they are extremely convenient. I have question, does the intercooler fan always need to be on with the engine? or does it only activate under high temperatures. Mine does not work at cold start. will check again later when its hot

Hi Andy, I'm a complete mechanics novice the above video is great for someone like me, I have stainless steel intercooler pipes on, and just had rocker gasket and half moons replaced by my guy.. when i took her out for a second spin, i had a loss of power and drive, quick engine inspection showed that one of the Jubilee clips on the pipes wasn't on fully, so have sorted that out myself - having a quick look inside the back pipe out from intercooler i noticed a fair amount of oily residue. Quick google on cleaning and Intercooler and some people recommend swilling with petrol, some parafin, white spirit. Have you any recommendations on this ? and would you suggest following same procedure for the steel intercooler pipes i have ? Thanks in advance - George

I think the Oily Residue is from the PCV. I get that on my VW TDI. While it's out I would flush it with hot soapy water, rinse and DRAIN so as not to cause a hydro lock.
