Removing brake master cylinder on 06 BMW X5

More room is needed when removing the brake master cylinder. Special tool such as a cow foot set can make the job easy.

If you are replacing a brake booster the set comes with all the pushers no need to keep the old parts. The pusher, sprocket and small metal guider is inside your brake booster as follow.

Yes it is behind the push rod and it was difficult to put it in. Hi Ryan, is the PUSH ROD supposed to be secured by the crown looking lock ring inside the booster. Please share your experience if you been through this. Mustafa don’t reply on his video. Thanks

Hello Mr. Mustafa. When I pulled the master cylinder, I only saw the push rod and the locking ring. You think the small metal disk fell inside the booster? And if I have it where do I install the small metal disk. I think your video was the best so far of all because it was so in detail BUT at the end you did not explain where those three parts exactly goes in. I have the same issue, when I installed the master cylinder with just the push rod and the ring gear the brake was spongy and rear calipers doesnt work

Yes, I have a endoscope camera and able to take photos inside the booster. But still I can’t figure out if the push rod is needed to secure by the locking ring.
