This was SO helpful, thank you for making this! I'm in the middle of moving my pins to a new backpack and didn't realize some of my pin backs had broken. Saved me hours of frustration!

Thanks so much for posting this video. My friend thought it would be cute to put an airplane pin in his earring hole. Let's just say that he was in so much pain cutting his earlobe off was on the short list of things to try next.

Total life saver!! Got a cute pin from an art installation's store and the back arrived broken, without this video I would have had to buy another!

Thank you so much! I got a high-quality enamel pin for one of my friends as a Bday present, but during shipping, the top part of the pin back came off. I literally spent 30 minutes trying to get it off until I stumbled across this video. I love locking pin backs, but my goodness they can be annoying when they break. I swapped the broken back out for a pinch to unlock backing.

Thank you for this video. I had two pins with this issue, but in both the center part didn't stick up far enough to grab, even with very small needlenose, and there was zero play in the pin back to push down. My solution was using a pair of sidecutter pliers, gently cutting around the outer part until it broke off, exposing the center part which was then easy to pull off.

I need to get some neednose pliers, but thank you so much!!! I absolutely was panicking! I sometimes attach pins to my skirts to make them more form fitting and this happened when I went to take them off, still on the skirt! 🙏

Thank you for the video first time having a pin with this back I broke that disc thing off. Instead of needle nose pliers I used a nipper from my manicure set. Worked on the first try. 😂

I use a lot of my pins as pushpins/thumbtacks for my cubicle at work. Just an idea for people who don't wear jewelry much, or maybe want to display a pin but are missing a back.

I'd actually been wondering about some more secure options than the standard rubber doodads that come with most pins I've got. I'll have to look for these clutch thingies. Last thing I want is for my DM or Ranger cats to jump off my wool coat's lapel without warning!
@frostdragondesigns2 жыл бұрын
For sure! I have lost more than a few pins in the past unfortunately, lol. There are also a kind that you tighten on with a little Allen wrench, but I once upon a time tightened one of those too much and it kind of messed up the post, so I don't use those, But a lot of people really like that kind.

So my problem is the little metal shaft isn't sticking out enough for a regular pair of pliers to pull it off. Any clue what I could use? Are there super duper small pliers or something? Really want to get this pin off without destroying the pin or the bag it's on.
@frostdragondesigns2 жыл бұрын
My best recommendation would be to try to press the base of the pin down a bit further to force that part up a little bit to get a small edge for the needle nose to grab on to. Best wishes!
@linkcopp-millward96942 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That finally did do the trick, had to push it down and then grabbed onto the back for dear life with the pliers. Can you believe I had to do this for TWO backs? That pin is using rubber stoppers from now on.

@@frostdragondesigns maybe that was my issue, i bought a multi pack from amazon 😩
@frostdragondesigns10 ай бұрын
@@HollowedCrow The worst part was by the time I knew they were junk I didn't know which ones were the Amazon ones and which were the ones that came with pins, so every time I went to move a pun it was a game of 'will this fall apart in my hand?' 😭
