Collete you can use the sand more than once, just sweep it off the floor and then pour it through a mesh strainer. I don't know if you can use the walnut more than once but I would give it a try. Great video. ps. Do it outside next time.
@henkoosterhof59472 жыл бұрын
Pistol Pete walnut is to soft. After 1 time use its lost. Sand, grit or glass can be used more than 1 time. Only it looses it abressive force. Hence keep some used and use that for the glassfiber or use the walnut for that. Less abressive. I dont know your laws but sandblasting is not allowed anymore over here. Ps. There is a you tube lady ,sarah n tuned, who already tried out different methods of blasting.

There is a special chemical paint stripper formulated specifically for fiberglass! It’s used for boats, cars etc., and doesn’t harm or compromise the structure. I believe Eastwood makes it too, but I’m sure you can find information at f.e. Ecklers. Always fun watching! Best wishes

Bravo Collette, that looked like both hard work and fun, making a mess and getting shit taken care of. Another option, with care exercised with the f/glass, is dirty old paint stripper. Paint in on, hose and scrape it off. the area outside of the bay which will be covered by panels might be a good test spot. Carry on with your head up and you'll be back in the game.

Good luck with getting it back to 100%, you guys worked to hard for it to end that way. Keep pushing and youll be ripping it again soon✌🤙 You should have someone airbrush a true flame style like (rip)Mike Lavelle used to paint for the engine bay. The professional soda blasting stuff is a lot better. It’s a big thing near the shore areas bc people get it done to remove years of bottom paint off the bottoms of the boats. But your doing a great job for what you have. Usually that much stuff is done outside. A lot less cleanup and you can breathe a lot better.
@racerx20842 жыл бұрын
The walnut shells does great on aluminum parts too. Doesn’t put the metal. Also you can reuse the material to a certain level. Might not be as good as first time it went through but still usable. Just like a cabinet. The material stays in there and gets recirculated until it seems worn down
