As a painter of 25 years, it’s so refreshing seeing a KZbinr do it right. You used quality product, with quality equipment, and under the guidance of a quality company like HOK! Truly proud of you and the great work you showcased here!

I was about to comment similar things. Always refreshing seeing anyone doing an auto body or paint correct. Cheap shops have given it such a bad bad view of full paint jobs.

My paint standards are low cause it will rot where im at and ill scratch it amyway. My jeep was painted with a flashlight at 8 or 9pm in the cold by my dad and brother. Came out good for what it is and the conditions it was done in, but has 2 or 3 runs. Done in the back yard too 😂 paints worn thin now though and body is going again. Probably will reinforce a fiberfglass body with steel and swap it in the next year or 2

What a great teacher and super cool of the House of Color crew to help you with your first go at it. They could have talked you into doing just one color for your first car, but they spiced it up and wow what a result. I’m sure you learned a heck of a lot more this way. 💯

Would be such a neat addition to take the mirrors and do a mini fade spray on them as the fade of the vette runs! Go from the bottom front in neon yellow to pink middle and the top and areas most surrounded around the mirror glass in the Purp! Would really compliment the whole job. You killed it on this paint job Collete!! Took all of the tools and knowledge House of Kolor blessed you with and took it and ran! You literally broke the paint with this one!! Car looks absolutely wicked 🏎💛🧡💖💜 💨💨💨

Your car looks good, the fact you did a lot of it yourself is even better. I painted aircraft for a number of years for the RNZAF, so fades aren't new to me, it's what we call camouflage. You nailed it, the best part is when some one asks you who did your paint, you can look them straight in the eye and say "I did".

Well done Collete, you did great for a beginner. You learnt so much in such a short space of time. Glad you sorted out your trigger and wrist action at the start and end of your stroke, it wasn't looking too good when you were putting the primer on, hence the run you had. The robot action in your arm is coming on strong. I've been a painter for 35 years and i don't impress easily but you have impressed me. Give it a bit more time and practice before you start using candy colours, i can't even begin to tell you how tricky they are. Tip: Wear a full painters suit with a hood. Paint doesn't wash out of your hair or off of your skin easily. Suits also help stop dust build up on you and you don't want dust falling from you onto your paintwork while you're painting. Well done and keep up the good work, you're killing it. 💛🧡💖💜

A tip to increase your video quality: Your audio is clipping, so when editing, lower the audio gain a little. -0.3dB should be the maximum of the video, which removes the clipping noises from our ears and the audio won't be fighting as hard. Other than that, you're awesome, keep it up!

holy jebus when she started the pink and it (looked) like she wasn't letting go of the trigger at the end of the strokes, I was freaking tf out worried that the paint would run in that spot. But then the further I watched, I realized Collette is actually a pretty damn good painter for someone who, I'm guessing doesn't do it very often... So far (about half way through the paint job) it looks to be turning out pretty amazing. Keep killin' it Collette! I think it's going to to look sick when it's completed🔥🌈🚗

I have to say Mike is a good teacher but teaching a student only works if the student a takes in the theory and has talent to put the theory in to practice, I believe you took in the lessons even though it was a crash course. I also think you were up to doing the final coats once shown how to match the remaining panels, a tip for matching the panels you have taken off is to keep a note of how many coats you do on the body so you can lay down the same. Collete the work you took on and put in to that paint job many wouldn't be able to do after a year in a paint shop being taughtconsistently by a qualified instructor. Well Done!.

Out of curiosity, how come you’re doing all the overfenders while they’re on the car? I know you’re going to do a fade, but wouldn’t it make sense to do the base coat on the whole car with the fenders off? That way you don’t have the mint showing through the body lines where the over meets the factory fenders and stuff? Then later paint the fade with it all on? Genuinely curious, I’m learning about paint as well!
