I also wanted to mention that before I take on a restoration job (removing hard water) I recommend that my clients have the landscape company change the direction of the sprinklers, or they could be looking at that extra cost every time. But I also do the same thing. If it's only one or two windows, I do it as a courtesy.

I own a cleaning business, safest thing to use is a 0000 grade stainless steel wool pad. Not safe to use on tinted glass, but every other kind has worked for me, never left scratches before

Hey steveO, I clean windows in texas where lots of people have well water and thus, very hard water. I first wet the window and then use bar keepers friend (super cheap) with a white pad. i squeegee off the solution and then re clean the window. If I let the hard water remover get into my solution, I find i leave more arching streaks and touching up.

EXACT SAME THING happens to me here in Western Montana. I uses a separate bucket when using Diamond Magic. I do a lot of rural homes so lots of wells here too. I have trouble with the hard water here. But believe it or not, BKF is my go to. Heavier stains i use DM and Ive also tried ECO CHEM with very little success for some reason.

When we first moved into our home, and I cleaned the windows, I found that a lot of mineral deposits were transferred as rain came through the metal screens. At that time, I didn't have these new products available, so I had to really work steel wool with--believe it or not--rubbing compound...

Nice job man! 👍🏼 Diamond Magic is the best one I have used yet for an easy soft scrub and gone. Doesn’t remove all of it every time but it will get most of it.

I use the Diamond Magic as a last resort. First I blade, then if that didn’t work I use rub out. I like Unger rub out cause you can use it both dry or wet. That usually works.

Have you tried white vinegar? I have hard water where I live and when my dog finishes drinking from his bowl he puts his face up against our door window and eventually hardwater stains develop. So, today I just used a mix of water & vinegar (50/50) left it for about 30-60 seconds then just washed it off with a cloth. Hard water stains are gone :) Not sure how well it would work in extreme cases but it might be worth a shot.

It looks very similar to Bioclean. You can keep it from drying out by soaking your cloth and ringing it out to where it's barely not dripping water, then apply the product. It also minimizes scratches and you don't need as much product. 👍🏼😁👍🏼

I use steel wool and Sorbo. first I wet the window with my spray bottle then I apply the sorbo. Does the stool wool actually scratch the windows? I’ve used it before with no issue? Great video! 👍🏼

When do you recommend using stain removers? After cleaning my windows with a squeegee and dawn dish soap solution they looks clean, but at the right angle you can tell there are water stains. How bad do you let it get before you use something like diamond magic when cleaning a customer's windows?

Window is usually covered, if its just the corners, 0000 steel wool can remove that

Hey SteveO! Question. Which do you like better; Morman handle with the Flip pad or the Wagtail? I have trouble with the Morman 2.0 handle not remaining locked in place! I start to use it and it becomes unpinned and starts to swivel.

I am setting up my business as I use to clean windows 3 decades ago and I forgot hoe much i really enjoyed it. Do not apply with steel wool, bronze, wool, or any other "scrubbing" material. Soft rags/applicators only. Do not let dry out and rub. The grit will scratch glass under these conditions. Will look like haze.

What I want to know is why do you always use a brass channel with the Morman handle???

Love the handle, and do not like the liquidator. Brass channel is smooth and leaves minimal detailing. Rubber shreds way to quick in the liquidator, it likes to grab the glass on large panes, and sometimes Ill do straight pulls when doing pole work and the liquidator once again grabs the dry part of the glass. I find any angled end also is more capable of leaving rainbow streaks, this includes the Unger S plus channel and the Sorbo Viper channel. I never get rainbows with ettore brass. Also to use the liquidator smoothly you have to use a ton of soap...I like having suds but it becomes too much with the liquidator, using tons of soap regularly leaves a film in the pores of the glass. Been really trying to get away from using suds lately and more of a glass gleam and very light soap added. Definitely noticed a difference that windows are staying cleaner longer as well. Sorry that was long winded. Been getting this questions a lot lately so Ill do a vid on it soon

@@toddmatthews436 no, I’ve tried it with a lot of other rubbers, it can be smooth but I just don’t like the results. It’s way more prone to leave lines in the middle of the glass due to the rubber shredding so quick.

Yes it would, but CC550 is more than whats needed here. I only used acids on bad hard water stains, diamond magic is perfect for mild to medium

this stuff doesn't work for hard water in northern ca, Ive tried bioclean, #0000 steel wool and this diamond magic stuff and none of the products made any difference, I even tried vinegar solution with #0000 steel wool and nothing works yet to find a solution, I guess maybe a buffing wheel or something might help I don't know.

White vinegar is cheaper, non toxic and works on the hard water in Vail area. If it's heavily stained with hard water and the glass allows it you can use your blade or 4 OTT or bronze wool. It will rust 4 OTT quickly so you need to be careful.

Not doing extra, just the way I do it. Everyone has there own ways, there is tons of hard water removal products out there. I would disagree that its a shit product because its done a great job on a lot worse windows. But if ammonia and dawn works for you then awesome
